My 2005 pc desk top crushed. called dell and diagnostics tested showed problem with either motherboards or power. my warranty expired and looking for prof to look into the problem..

If computer dont starts at all it is power supply (no signs of working at all) If there is nothing on the screen it can be power supply or motherboard. Put different power supply ( you will be 100% sure)

I forgot my password.

Self Password Reset

Resetting forgotten login passwords of domain users is a crucial bottleneck, which a help desk technician has to handle as a routine. A password reset ticket or a forgotten login password has to be addressed within minutes in-order to avoid employee downtime and productivity loss. It is estimated that atleast 40 percent help desk tickets are related to password resets and on an average each change password ticket consumes 20 minutes of a help desk technician's time.

A self service password reset solution that allows an end user to self reset his domain password in windows active directory remotely from a web browser without calling the helpdesk is an essential requirement. A self service password reset and management solution not only reduces the number of help desk password tickets but also enhances the productivity of an end user by averting unnecessary and prolonged waits.

My desk top comp was purchased in 09, the last couple of months it has kept getting slower and slower, green screens will apper and I will have to restart the computer. this past week it has been...

Hi,

Switch ON the PC, boot the PC in 'Safe Mode' by continuously tapping F8 button after you switch On.

Let windows boot in Safe Mode and log in to windows.

Go to 'Start'--->Programs--->Accessories--->System Tools--->System Restore

Here you will have to check "Restore computer to an earlier time' and click Next
Now you will find one Month Calendar window with Dates below, go to the previous month by clicking the '<' sign in the upper left hand corner of the Month Calendar and select any date that you see in Bold.

The detail of that particular date should show "System Checkpoint" and time on the right hand side box. Select that date.

Now, Click on Next and System Restore will start and windows will take a reboot.

After reboot login to windows and

Go to 'Start' and then Run
write "msconfig" inside Run tab and press 'enter'
inside the 'System configuration utility' window click on 'startup' tab then uncheck all the applications except your current antivirus and press apply then 'ok' and then 'exit without restart' option.

Now right click My Computer and go to properties tab.
click 'Advanced' tab then under performance menu click on 'settings'
go to 'Advanced' click on 'change' and increase your virtual memory to 2048 in both spaces.
Now restart windows.

To quickly restart windows press CNTRL+ALt+DEL
inside task manager you will find all the open applications.
right click on each application and click on end process tree then ok

Close all your apps like this and you will find your windows a lot faster and now you can reboot or turn off your windows as usual from start button.

Next time you login to windows your issues will be resolved.

If you feel that my answers have helped you getting solution to your problems then please give a vote.

Thanks.

Need help my desk top monitor is showing a sign flashing saying no signal detected need to see how to fix or what might be the issue with desk top

This is the message shown when you power off your computer but you leave the monitor on. If your PC is on but you still see this message then it is a video problem. It could be as simple as a loose connection somewhere in your video cable (either where it plugs into the monitor or where it plugs into the PC). It could also be the monitor-many have different input modes and maybe the input mode changed somehow. Then again something could be wrong with the video card-are components loose on it? Check all of these, in that order (easiest to hardest), and I think you will have found the problem.

Hope this helps.

Standby mode in a desk top computer

What OS are you running? There can be up to 3 places in the OS or sftwr. ( have you recently dwnlded. any 3rd party sftwr. since this started? If yes, uninstall it AFTER you go back into it and adjust what you have changed to Power Options, Display Properties, and Administrative Tools), so go back and udo any recent changes, esp. if it is in 3rd party sftwr. do not empty your Trashcan, yet.

I have router that used by two computers one is desk top and lap top desk top work just fine but lap top worked ggod for a some time then one day just quit. on my intel proset wireless wifi inconnections...

First I would replace the connection cord to the computer that is not working. Try switching the cords to test them. The router may have a reset button. Turn the router off for at least three minutes, and try again.
