Hi does anyone know how to reset the drum life of the 7010? I would like to continue using the old drum until it actually breaks. Also how do you refill the toner of the TN2025 toner cartridge. Thanks in advance.

My Brother printer dcp 7010 is great. But before it ran out of toner it started not printing very well in a line down the left hand side of the page. All else is easy to read. New Laser printer/toner and it still does it. It also now has some dots on the left hand margin. Can anyone help.

Hi Raj, please describe the error details( paper jam, color lights, blinking, solid, toner is original /refilled ? Recently changed-opened the fuser or the drum ?
To reset the drum error for a Brother DCP 7010 printer:
Turn the printer on and leave it like that.
Open the front panel.
You should see on the screen a message : drum change. Press "yes".
After that, the LED that was flashing near the drum will stop alerting.
I have solved this solution with a tutorial done by me. It worked for me.
The link to this tutorial is: http://autorneto.com/tecnologia/gadgets/brother-en-windows-7/
(it's not in English; it's in spanish, but it is not a difficult spanish. You can easily translate it to english, or use google or something).
Hope it help.

I already answered this at some other place here - but just to make sure the word gets out there:
There is a little special (white) gear on the outer left side of the drumkit - a little bit below where the toner sits. That gear joins with toner assembly - and you can rotate it counterclockwise all the way back. This should reset the drum counter - worked for me!
1. The Drum LED blinks if the drum unit is near the end of its life. Use the drum unit until you have a print quality problem, then replace the drum unit with a new one. 2. The Drum LED continues to blink if the drum counter was not reset when you replaced the drum. To reset the drum follow the instructions below: a. Open the front cover of the printer. b. Press and hold down the white button (shown as blue in the image below) for about 4 seconds until all the LEDs light up. Once all 4 LEDs are lit, release the button. c. Close front cover
