Planar PX2710MW frequency out-of-range

After a computer reboot, about 8 out of 10 times the monitor would display a blue "frequency out of range" message. It would take several power off/on cycles for the monitor to finally display Microsoft Windows.

I called Planar tech support. They were super-nice. After about 15 minutes in which I shared my screen with them, the tech suggested I go into thePX2710MW's main menu (i.e. "Button 1") and then click "memory recall".

Problem solved! Wow.

Out of range message

This is caused by a resolution and/or refresh frequency setting in your computer's display properties that exceeds the values supported by the monitor.
Find out the optimum (native) resolution of your monitor (in case of AMV 17V5 it will be 1280x1024 pixels), and supported refresh frequency (usually 60Hz for LCD monitors), and set your display properties to these values.

Screen goes blank and message comes up saying "input signal out of range"

When does the screen go blank? Also what do you have plugged into it this most likely just because your input signal may be set at to high a resolution or frequency. Once I have more information I can assist you further.
Thanks,
Lee

Frequency out of range

Try to set the monitor refresh rate to Adapter Default despite of Optimal or lower rate of refresh. For this first download the manual of your monitor and check what is the highest refresh rate your monitor can suport. Then goto the display properties and set the adapter refresh rate to Adapter Default. In most cases such problem is solved. You did not mentioned the OS. This method is applicable in Windows only. Black screen on my LG Flatron lcd 563le

I solved the problem myself by disconnecting the monitor from the computer and then I unplugged the computer. I restarted the computer in position fail safe (F8) and tried to change the monitors resolution back to origin, failed to do so and rebooted instead. When Windows loaded up the problem was gone! Yipeyiiiii!
