Thanks for your help but this model doesn't have an ice maker. The model number is srs535nw. According to trouble shooting section in samsung manual (ice build up on wall of freezer) it suggests thar the fridge maynot be sealed (closed) completely this does not appear to be the case and the build up is only on the base of the freezer. Hope you can help. Regards Greg

I have the same Samsung side by side SRS535NW. I also have the same problem. Water on the floor of the freezer section. It seems to be coming from behind the rear cover. Not 100% sure at this stage.

I removed the rear freezer cover and found that the drain hole at the bottom of the evaporator coils was blocked with ice. When this happens the water from the evaporator coils runs across the built up ice and leaks into the freezer compartment under the rear cover.

I have a Samsung side by side - model RS253BAWW.

Water was leaking onto floor from main refrigerator, not freezer. It was determined to be a blocked defrost drain.

The repair technician removed the trays and food from fridge, remove the screws from the panel at back, disconnected everything and remove panel.
The stainless tray at bottom of fridge as well as panel itself had solid ice blockage.

He placed panel in sink and used something similar to a blow dryer with narrow hose on it to defrost both the panel and drain in fridge. Took him maybe 15 minutes and charged $99 total for the visit.

In future I will do this myself now that I know how but thought it may be useful information to others who are having similar problems.

Oyu need to go to the samsung download site and look up the troubleshooting portion on ice makers, there you'll find the part where oyu can adjust the water inlet for the ice machine and then oyu will have to adjust it to where it fillls the tray to the correct level and that should solve your problem. Good Luck and If you cannot find what you need then give me the model number that you have and I'll get it for you.

Water is building up on bottom of fridge

If you have water build-up on the floor of the food compartment, or ice buildup on the floor of the freezer compartment, you are probably suffering from either a frost problem or from a clogged defrost drain.

Remove everything from your freezer, including all food and any shelves. Do not remove the icemaker (if installed.)
Look at and feel the panel covering the bottom or back of the freezer compartment. Is it thick with frost?
On top freezer models, are the holes in the top of the food compartment that lead to the evaporator choked with ice?
Is there ice forming on, or lots of water on the ceiling of the food compartment?
If the answer is yes to any of these questions, there's probably a defrost problem.
If you suspect a defrost problem, first remove any icemaker that may be installed. You will see a removable panel covering the entire back or bottom of your freezer compartment. There may be 6 to 10 or more screws holding it on. In some units there is a light socket attached to the panel; you'll see this arrangement most often in side-by-sides.

If you start to get an unusual buildup of ice in one particular spot in your freezer, especially beneath the icemaker, check for water leaks.
Water leaking onto the kitchen floor not traceable to one of the problems in Chapters 4 or 6 may be from a leak in the icemaker or door dispenser water system. Icemakers have a water solenoid valve mounted on the back of the fridge, usually behind the back bottom panel, and a water tube that leads straight up the back of the fridge to the icemaker. Door dispensers have a similar water solenoid valve with a water tube that leads beneath the fridge and into the door through a hollow hinge. If your fridge has both features, it's usually a dual water solenoid valve. It can be simple or not-so-simple to fix, but basically it's just a plumbing job.

Water collecting inside fridge, under meat drawer

Yes most responses are the freezer drain even if it is in the bottom freezer. If the drain is blocked water will build up anywhere inside your refrigerator only because it has no place to go during the defrost. Defective door seals can also can make the problem much worse. Water accumulates and freezes on bottom of freezer.

Orange glow is defrost heater and that is normal. Crackling sound is heater heating up area around it, normal. Water and ice build up in the bottom is due to a clogged defrost drain.

Water leaking from whirlpool gold refrigerator

When refrigerators leak water it usally is a sign that the defrost drain found inside the rear of freezer and behind the rear panel of freezer has become clogged with ice or gunk. Sometimes the pan below refrigerator has a crack and allows water to leak onto floor. Water accumulating in bottom of freezer and leaking onto floor

Yes the drain is clogged and the water that supouse to go through became ice so it make it worse.Put hot water in the drain hole until it runs through,it'll go to an evaporative pan on top of the compresor to keep it warm and vaporize the water.

Water gushed out freezer door, possible solenoid problem?

The drain is clogged. The drain is usually located inside the freezer on the bottom shelf to the rear. Use a meat baster and a solution of 1 tsp. baking soda and 2 cups of hot water-not boiling to unclog the drain. You probably also have about 1/2 inch of ice build-up on the bottom shelf. This will have to be removed first.
