Question about Microsoft Office Professional 2007 Full Version for PC

1 Answer

Missing "Restrict Permission" option from Office 2007 Button

In Microsoft Office 2007 there's an option, after clicking the "Office Button," that gives you the ability to "Restrict Permission" from the drop-down box. Moving the cursor to the "Prepare" option, the fly-out box should contain the option of "Restrict Permission." I've uninstalled all components of Office 2007 Professional and reinstalled twice. The feature is still missing. I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit on a new Acer PC desktop.

My micro soft office home 2007 whats me to enter a product key I lost mine . i had it for 2 yrs only

Hi try this.

Converting Microsoft Office 2007 to Full Version:

This requires that Microsoft Office 2007 has been installed without the product key in the first place.

Once Microsoft Office 2007 has been installed with no product key, proceed as follows:

1. In Windows Explorer of your pc, browse to the following folder:

C:Program FilesCommon FilesMicrosoft SharedOFFICE12Office Setup ControllerProof.en

2. Right click on Proof.XML file, select Open With in the right click menu.

3. In the Open With window, select Notepad to be used to open the XML file.
[Note: In Windows Vista, if you can't see the Notepad option, simply double click the "Other Programs" to unhide it.]

4. Scroll down to the bottom of the Proof.XML to locate the following lines:

<feature Id=SetupXmlFiles Cost=1248><optionref Id=AlwaysInstalled/></feature>

5. Change the AlwaysInstalled to NeverInstalled so that the line looks like following:

<optionref Id=NeverInstalled/>

6. Save the Proof.xml file.

[In Windows Vista, you may need to take ownership and grant full access permission to yourself before able to modify the file.

7. You can now launch Microsoft Office 2007 application such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and etc without prompting for activation.

Good luck!

I TRY TO TYPE IN MY MICROSOFT WORDAND GET A ERROR MESSAGE THAT THIS MODERFICATION IS NOT ALLOWED BECAUSE THE SELECTION IS LOCKED

Maybe you have a trial version of Office 2007, and the trial period has ended. Or maybe you have not activated your Office software.

What happens if you start Word 2007 and click on Office Button | Word Options | Resources | Activate? If you are already activated, a dialog box saying so will appear. If you are not activated, the Activation Wizard will start. If you have an expired trial version, a dialog box will prompt you to enter a valid product key or convert (purchase a key) online.

If you are sure, that it is not the case try following:

1. Go the office bottom at the top left corner of the window
2. In that drop down menu, click the "word option" button at the right end.
3. In that resources is the only option you can go with, so click the option and in that
sub-options click the "activate microsoft office" click "activate" button.
4. This option validates your word working duration, click finish.
5. close if any office is opened and re-start it again. You will see it would have activated.

I need help with microsoft office 2007

The resolution appears to be two fold,

First of all you might want to add the following registry key depending on the application for which the user gets a prompt:
Click on Start Run then type in the following command for respective applications.
reg add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\<application>\Options /v NoReReg /t REG_DWORD /d 1 For Ex:
reg add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\Options /v NoReReg /t REG_DWORD /d 1
reg add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Excel\Options /v NoReReg /t REG_DWORD /d 1
reg add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\Options /v NoReReg /t REG_DWORD /d 1
reg add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\PowerPoint\Options /v NoReReg /t REG_DWORD /d 1.
This should normally take care of the issue in applications like Outlook ,Word and Power point .

The user might also get a secondary error message when opening Excel application that states the following. stdole32.bmp

Note: Opening excel in the application safe mode would bypass the error. But this could be misleading coz the issue has more to do with permission than add-in within the application.

To resolve this problem you would need to perform the following steps:

1) Go to start > run > regedit

2) Navigate to the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT > Excel.Chart.8

3) Right Click on key and select Permissions

4) In the Permission windows > Click on Add Tab and add everyone

5) Once this is done Click on the Advanced Tab > Owner > Highlight Everyone > Click on Apply and Ok

6) In the Permission > Select Everyone > enable the check box for Full Control and Read, then Click on Apply and Ok.

7) Click on F5 to refresh, this should create a new Sub key below Excel.Chart.8 called Protocol > Right Click on the key and repeat step 3 – 5.

8) Refresh again and follow the same sequence of steps to add permission to the following Sub keys StdFileEditing >Server.

9) Close the registry editor.

This should resolve the issue for good.
