Controls completely black after power surge DACOR ERD48 Range

We had a power outage then brownouts in an ice storm and after power was restored our range control panel did not come back on. Our microwave, alarm, and an electric toothbrush were also fried.  What part would have been damaged on the range and need replaced?  Thanks!

SOURCE: F6 Error

I contacted Dacor and they stated that the F6 error means the ERC or Electronic Relay Control is bad. This part would need to be relaced. They gave me a parts company to contact for the part. It is Appliance Parts Depot at 1-800-642-6420.

Once you replace the oven control again....never use self clean on any oven....unless you want to replace parts.
Before you replace the control...look inside the control panel for a resettable thermal fuse.

SOURCE: Dacor oven door does not close completely

Place a hammer handle between the hinge and the door frame. Exert moderate pressure to close the door. It should spring back to normal position. Do both sides.

Just change the orifices. Also adjust the pressure control regulator by reversing the built in plastic spacer, the regulator supplied is a dual fuel type. Any work should only be carried out by a person who is qualified to do so for safety reasons. Dacor are very unhelpful when I posed the same question directly to one of their technical advisors. The poor level of this persons 'technical' knowledge both surprised and concerned me.

I need 6 LP orifices. Where can I buy them and what is the part number?

get then from an accredited gas fitter shop and have them fit the jets as there is a requirement to change the position of the air shrouds to maintain the correct air / gas ratio for clean efficient burn
If you do it yourself , you are in breach of gas regulations and you will end up with yellow flames and soot on the cooking utensils

Oven door locked after power outage

Usually, on electronic oven controls, the user must clear the "PF" error or other such similar condition first. Next, look for a set of buttons with "lock" below them or a "key" symbol. You would then press and hold both buttons for 3-4 seconds until the lock light goes out, or a message will show "disable". I don't know what model range you have so I am giving options that I have seen in the field. On some ovens, just a single button is pressed and held--some models have a separate "cooktop lockout" and an "oven lockout". This prevents children from either activating or changing settings when un-supervised. However, the power outage may have *damaged the electronic oven control* by hitting it with a current surge when the power was restored. THIS IS COMMON and why I always encourage my customers to purchase a "whole house surge protector" for between 60 and 100.00. It is some of the best money you can spend to protect your house--current surges aren't covered by warranties or most protection agreements.

Dacor ERD48 Range. The circuit board went dead. No lights at all. Time flashed a short while (as if there was a power outage) then nothing. I assume I need the board repaired or replaced. How do I...

There are screws somewhere around the board housing. First check below the control panel just above the door. There might also be one screw on the ends of the control panel. Usually you do not have to remove the knobs to do this.
When you get to the board just behind the panel, it might be held down further be clips at the edges.

Had a storm the range works but the oven went out model number 8114P732-60 Maytag advance cooking system super cap. is there a reset button

There isn't a reset per say but you can turn the unit off at the breaker box for the home for 1 to three minutes. If this does not work...either the heating elements were blown during the power outage or the control board is now fried from the surge and needs replaced.

What do codes e2 and f1 mean?

Here is what the manufacture says about it, my comments are below.

F1 E2 - UL A/D error(s)

1. Verify failure if not displayed, using CANCEL/OFF key. Press key for 5 seconds until last
error code is displayed.
2. Disconnect power longer than 30 seconds.
3. Re-apply power and observe for longer than 1 minute.
4. If failure remains, disconnect power, replace control.

Phil's comments----->

F1 Codes are related to the control itself, if there was a storm, power outage, surge etc it could have damaged the control. Try resetting the board by unplugging the range or turning off the breaker for a couple minutes. Restart and see if that helps. If not you will need to replace the control.

The part number for this unit is 4453614 and runs just over $300.00

Yes. F1 error is a bad control board.
These boards are very sensitive to power surges, lightning and power brownouts.

HI. the storm has caused an electrical surge that traveled through the home wiring system and, the Oven control received the hit in this case. it is damaged at this point, and it should be replaced asap, if possible. this code represents a major control breakdown. the board is ruined.
