Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console

1 Answer

Red Ring Alright I was gone for about two weeks, so, I wasn't playing my xbox. I came home and played it because I got COD5 and wanted to play it. After playing a couple days later, I was playing  and in the middle of a game, my xbox froze,  a flashing red ring appeared and my controler kept viberating. This has happened 3 times and once tonight, so 4. I can't turn off my xbox, so I have to unplug it. Is my xbox almost near death or what is going on with it?

Hey there,
Easiest way to fix this problem is to contact microsoft and have the console repaired. It is usually caused by the Graphics processing unit, Central processing unit, and the fan producing to much heat and warping the mother board causing the solder to become loose breaking it and loosing a good connection. Sorry for the bad news! Thing to try and practice with this console would be checking the power supply make sure it is in a well ventilated area and vents are clean, also the console must be kept clean in a open area where it can get good ventilation on all sides. since the 360 has a 3 year warranty just get the system replaced/repair and it will save you alot of grief. I hope this helps! good luck and happy gaming.

1 red ring has appeared, game play grainy

This means that you have either played it so much, that the circuits inside the xbox have been damaged. Luckily, you didn't get 3-4 rings, which means it is unable to play. So i suggest to go to Game stop for repairs. I'm just giving a suggestion.

My xbox has color problems

Component, HDMI? May want to check cabling. Having the component cables plugged in incorrectly can create color problems.

Cant play games on Xbox 360 live

imma suspect its overheating. beings the fact youve experienced the red ring of death in the past. its either overheating or the hard disk is going bad. unless your using a memory unit. then id point the finger at overheating. the x360 is basically a computer. and when the cpu and gpu overheat or experience harsh temperatures they tend to run sluggish and their performance goes down the **** till they cool down or overheat to the point that the system locks up and crashes/hangs. if you can post more info as much detailed as you can i may be able to more help ya!

I am afraid that you may have the red ring of death. 3, I believe, is a major hardware failure. What you need to do is look online for the red ring of death and see if it is what your console looks like. If so, call MS and get support. They will send you a box and you will mail your 360 in, and within a month it will be back to normal. I believe this is the only way to fix the red ring of death.

Game freeze

Try playing the game without your HD hooked up if the game still freezes this is a known problem and will need to be replaced. Mine started to do this just shortly after i played assasins creed and about a week after i got the dreaded red ring of death. If your system doesnt freeze after you play it without your HD in then you should be fine just delete all the saved files off your HD and start fresh.
