Hi trying to clear regional code on dvd player panasonic s58 please advise Cheers

Hi there, the problem with this type of dvd player is that the remote has a pause/play combined button. You need to get yourself a generic remote and program it to use the dvd player, make sure it has a seperate play/pause button. When you have this remote use the following code :

Audio, 1, 9, 8, 2, Subtitle, Pause and then 0

Make sure you have the disc tray open at the time. The screen should display "On" if the code worked correctly.

I hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa

I bought a philips dvd player and it will only play some dvd's other dvd's it says wrong region yet some i have seen play all. Can I get soaftware to fix this

All you need is the key to unlock the Region Code. This key is a combination of pressing certain buttons on the remote and DVD player that will bring it up.
What you need to do is post either on here again the DVD model number and the words "Region Code Crack".
The owners of your model will then tell you what it is. Or you can see if it is on-line by doing the same as the above on Google etc.

Logik LBD1000 will not play disks

Get the software update from here. Burn the DAT file and the IMAGES folder to a cd. Now start your player and wait until screen displays no disc. Now insert cd and close tray. software will update and cd will eject. Remove cd and close tray. Player will restart by itself and your software will be updated.

Mine did the same at first. I turned mine upside down and pressed eject and that worked to get the CD out then let it warm up to room temp and all is well.

RCA L6H media player having trouble playing .mkv files.

It could be due to outdated codec.

You can try to install CCCP or K-Lite Codec Pack that you can download in the link below

Make sure to remove all codec packs that you have installed before installing the codec packs.

Hope it helps:

I have a sanyo 3 disc dvd changer. says no play

first of all you need to check your manuel for dvd's that can be played as in burnt. as of right no cd/dvd changers can play dvd that are burnt. cd's can be played if it states on player. only normal cd's and dvd's can be played. also check your disc for marks on them like fingerprints etc. if you want invest in a great player like sony, pioneer, i have no problem with these players.

Player won't play legally imported DVD's

Hi, guessing you are from the UK? Different countries operate different regions for dvd's for instance the UK dvd players are set up to play region 2 discs, and US dvd players are set up to play region 1 discs.
This is because dvd release dates are different around the world and this stops people buying a dvd in the US and bringing it back to the UK and selling it before its official UK release date for example.
Your choices are either to play the dvds on a PC where often the dvd software will allow you to change region a number of times (be careful though as some players will let you change region say 5 times and then be locked to that region)
Or to get hold of or buy a multi region dvd player which plkays dvd'd regardless of their original region
Hope that makes sense, good luck

Use other Mp3 ripper software. I think the problem is Windows Media Player rips it to WMA file and not as Mp3 file.

Pace Sky plus box

You have 2 choices, software reset or hardware reset. It's up to you what you try, but please read the advice in full before starting - if you break your box, please don't blame me!

SOFTWARE RESET
The following is copied from http://www.ecademy.com/node.php?id=73309

This is useful if your disk usage percentage doesn't go down even after clearing programmesfilms off.

The following is offered on an ADVICE only basis, take care when making changes:

WARNING following this advice is totally at your discretion and anything which happens to your digibox as a result is your responsibility, not mine. You will lose all recorded programmes from your Sky+ Planner.

Sky tech support can talk you through performing a system restore over the phone. To do this yourself, press 'services' on your Sky plus remote, then select option 4. Next press 0, 1, select - you should now see the engineer's menu. Choose option 8, 'Full System Reset'. The box will now take a few minutes to reset itself

Try pausing or recording again, and if the problem persists disconnect the digibox from the mains power. Press and hold the 'left' and 'right' navigation buttons on the front of the digibox whilst you reconnect the mains power. Continue holding the buttons in for about 20 seconds, and when the ring of light on the front comes on, press the 'select' button on the front of the digibox (between the left and right buttons you were holding). The Sky+ recording logo lights will spin backwards and, according to the Sky engineer, this will "clear the hard drive".

Once this is done, disconnect the digibox from the mains power again and this time press and hold the 'back up' button whilst you reconnect the mains power. Continue holding it for about 15 seconds until 3 lights on the front of the box come on and you get a full-screen message saying "Updating system software. Do not disconnect mains supply or satellite dish."

Leave the digibox doing its thing for about 10 minutes and it should be fixed! Try pausing and recording things again... hopefully you've just saved yourself £65

If you've not been so lucky, you'll have to get Sky to fix it for you. Some people report that if you ask to cancel your subscription Sky sometimes offer a free callout to fix the problem - you're more valuable to them as a paying customer than the cost of an engineer callout

Sky customer service's (seemingly unpublished) freephone number. You need to dial 0800 731 6965, then option 2, option 4 March 9, Sky have closed this Freephone number
HARDWARE RESET
Copied from http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=484098

Full System Reset via front panel:
  1. Remove power at mains.
  2. Hold LEFT+RIGHT.
  3. Apply power, wait for ring to light.
  4. Release LEFT+RIGHT, press SELECT.
  5. Ring cycles backwards while disk is quick formatted.
  6. If format sucessful PLAY lights up, if not RECORD lights up.
  7. Box goes into standby - wait 30 seconds are wake it up.

Warning: Full System Reset deletes all your recordings and planner entries.

Good luck!
