UNIT WILL NOT TURN ON WITH REMOTE OR ON THE TV ITSELF. LIGHT GOES FROM RED TO GREEN FOR 5 SECONDS THEN BACK TO RED.I HAVE UNLUGGED IT AND ALLOWED IT TO RESET, STILL NOTHING. hELP!!!!

  • kathy mills Jun 05, 2007

This unit is still under warranty, thank goodness! Now I have to send it to California and WAIT for 3-4 weeks. We will see what transpires with this. My thought is to not deal again with companies that do not have somewhat local service centers. The service center states that they will reimburse for $35.00 in shipping to get there. I suppose we will see!!?? Big pain in the Butt! Thanks for your help. will keep you posted on their result. Thanks again, will see the final determination!

TV won't turn on

It sounds that, the memory IC to your TV has damaged. This IC can be located very near to main system control IC. A very small one, with 8 solder terminals. Even though it is very small, function of it while the TV works is great. The work is a semi-skilled one, and you must have some knowledge in electronics to proceed.

AKAI 32" LCD HDTV WILL NOT TURN ON

The only solution at this point would be to get the power supply repair since new boards are not longer being manufactured. In about 95% of the time if the LCD doesn't power up or turns OFF by itself or need to be unplug for some time to make work again; those are the symptoms of a dying or defective power supply.
I service these power supplies, for more info write to [email protected]
