How to conect Behringer Xenyx2442Fx and MAudio profire 610

Hi,
I am a musician trying to build a home recording studio, i've just bought a Behringer 2442 and an M-audio profire 610 sound card, and i don't know how to make the instalation, to get the best recording results, i'll be recording voices, guitars, keys, brass and drums.
I would appreciate any advice, cause it's a simple matter but i am not familiar yet with the wiring terminology and other sound subjects.
Kind Regards.

Hi, So are you going to be using a Mac to record with, or do you have a firewire port on your PC? It's a pretty straight-forward install. The thing I'm thinking about is your Behringer mixer. The Profire is a great unit, and attaching a Behringer to it is kind of like putting cheap gas in a Ferrari - not to diss your Behringer - they are acceptable low-end mixers. But you can plug everything directly into your Profire and you will get exceptional quality recordings. It has these great preamps for vocals and analog to digital converters that are as quiet and pure as you can get. You can control volume and panning through the software you are using that probably came with the Profilre... if you don't have the software you need to decide on what type of rec ording software you are goingto use. I use Acid Pro, Cakewalk Pro, Fruity Loops Producer's Studio & a couple of others. All for different reasons and applications. If you want the versatility of a mixer attached to the Profire though, I can understand. I did something like that for years. You can keep things plugged into an external mixer (like your Behringer), and that's great especially if you use keyboards adn have a studio mike that you just want to kind of leave plugged in. If you have a PC, then when you plug in the unit it will be noticed by the operating system (at least XP will), and as you for your software disk that came with the unit. If you bought it used and do not have the disk, you can find the driver for the Profire easily I'm sure. If you need help with that I can halp you. If you have a Mac, once again, OSX should just notice it and configure it to the recording software when you start the recording software program. I need much more information from you, so please answer the questions I have asked and we will get you up and running in no time. Mark

Well your book you got should tell you this, if you dont have one you can down a PDIF file from Behringher . All tho I would suggest you sell it while it is still working and research a new unit. Why is it every breaks down you will never get parts to fix it. I know . Im in the business, I can never get the simpelest of parts, aand they can fail even un used much they can go bad just sitting there waiting to be used . Good luck DFD, keep on playing

We don't have any graphic means of diagramming. You also don't say if this is for recording or playing or both. Assuming it is both, your best way would be to get two 1/8 stereo cables that split into two RCA plugs. Go from the headphone out of the DR1 to the CD inout jacks on the mixer. Then with the second cable go from teh CD out jacks of the mixer to the line in of the DR1.

Hi,

It could be one switch at main section called "Stand By" and just got dirty or scratchy, this is the main cause for one channel goes out in this mixers, just take out the plastic cover of this button and insert the cleaner spray pipe in then just give it 2 or 3 shots, then put back the cover and press it several times and recheck functionality, let me know to help.

Tip

Studio Recording at Home; Part 1

For all of the musicians who want to record their demo, or even your next album, without paying pricey studio fees, this is the tip for you!<br /><br />First, let me say that it doesn't matter what DAW software you're using, as long as you're familiar with it and can navigate it easily.<br /><br />For that "full" sound that you hear on most recordings on CD and radio, here's a what you've gotta do:<br /><br />4 guitar tracks (two for each side of the stereo image, pan two out just a bit farther than the others).<br /><br />2 bass tracks (one recorded direct in [DI], the other amped)<br /><br />A single drum track<br /><br />Vocals to taste<br /><br />For the guitars, if you don't have an amp, or the equipment to record an amped guitar, there are plenty of amp simulation programs available. If you are using an amp, you'll want to place the mic in front of the amp, slightly to the side, pointed at the midway point between the center and the edge of the speaker.<br /><br />For bass, recording DI without a DI box can be a pain. That's where the amp sims come into play. Record two tracks simultaneously, and only apply the amp sim to one track.<br /><br /><br />That's all for this tip. Stay tuned for part Deux of Studio Recording at Home!<br />

Behringer ms 40

I'm not sure what kind of problem you are having on this but I have been trying fix a Eurolive B215D powered monitor for a friend for over 6 months. I have found that I could fix it in a few hours but, can't find any record of the components used. Standard resistors, caps, and others but certain things like output transistors and more specialized spec components can't crossover to generics for repairs. The only way to get them is through Behringer manufacturer AND they want to sell you a new on instead of fixing the old one. Can't seem to get parts for Behringer equipment. I have talked to other techs that say the same.

If it's a problem with the drivers, when you go to the manufacturer's website to download them, merely type in the exact product you have and the website should give you the specific driver/s for your product. If you go to the icon for XP's volume and recording tools, make sure that you've engaged the mic to function and that it functions at a sufficient level. You can find those tools under Control Panel, and then select SOUND, and then select RECORDING to adjust the mic functions.

Hi. I have a M-Audio FW2626 and it was by mistake pluged in a higher V tension, and now it doesn't work anymore. Perhaps I found the problem, but I need its Diagram Block. If you can help, I...

The external power supply is probably damaged and will need to be replaced. It appears to be a 12 volt DC, 3.5 amp, center positive unit. I would replace with a new one from the M-Audio parts supply as the ratings of this are far above standard universal units.

It appears there are internal jumpers that do this on the MX2642A but the schematic does NOT show these for the Xenyx2442FX. These if they existed may be push on type OR they may be ones you have to change using soldering equipment. Carefully open the unit and look on the back of the circuit board. The jumpers would have low numbers... Should be JP1 through JP24.... I have a hunch that they are not provided for your model. Here is your schematic:

http://elektrotanya.com/behringer_ub2442fx-pro_sm.pdf/download.html

Scroll down to the "Get Manual" and click on it to download. The jump[ers would be near the pre/post fade switches for AUX1 and AUX2.

Hi, my rare earth humbucker pickup has always worked fine but all of a sudden i get very quiet volume on both my maudio fast track ultra and my amp (orange cr35)...my amp has to be on overdrive to hear it...

Most likely problem is failing battery. Note that batteries have a habit of recovering when idle for a bit. Leaving guitar cable plugged in drains the battery as the presence of the cable is what turns on the preamp.
