Question about Televison & Video

Sanyo Hd T.V. has lost all red pixels.

Our Sanyo H.D. T.V. is only three years old and has lost all the red pixels. Everything appears only blue and green. This occurs when playing DVD's also. There is a class action suit against HItachi, I was wondering if any suits have been filed against Sanyo?

Wow, I think you nailed the solution, I think it might have been a power supply problem. I was turning off the power strip every night to save energy. Now, I'm keeping it on, and all the color is back. . Thank you so much for your solution.

That sounds like a circuit board problem. Not a very common problem either. Most likely you will need to replace your video board, as that is where the color control is located. It could be a power supply problem to the plasma grid if you are running a plasma tv. Otherwise it can only be the video board. Call a tech for an estimate (most likely a 500-1000 dollar repair)

Black pixels in shading and back ground turning red

This is not a "rear projection" plasma TV for whiuch you offered solutions, It is the LCD Flat panel the Liquid Crystal Display a 40" Samsung. I do not think this problem is a dead pixel as that woulde be "black" Reading on the web I found only one post that appeared to be the same or similar and the person said somehing about "switching the red wire" Maybe it is a "stuck" pixel -- sticks on red once in a while. Like previously after the first time it occured it has not come back in three days now. Samsungs repair comes today i will cross my fingers.

I have a 32" sonya tv about 10 years old.... Have no red color any more.. Where can I get this fix and would it just be cheaper to go get a new tv.

tv producess three colours red, blue and green, each of this has a different input on the tube (crt)
each has a seperate path from the IC to the tube neck.
on the tube are three transistors, each one for one colour, these transistor can be tested individualy,
if all this does not work, then take your tv for rejuvanation (opening of gates on the tube in puts)

DLP Colors Are Off - Picture Is Mostly Blue and Yellow

Sounds like you've lost your red video signal (chroma) somewhere along the line. This tv has a 3 board video path. Analog main pcb --->Digital main pcb --->DMD pcb. The analog has all your inputs on it, except DVI and RGB which go straight into the digital board. The digital scales (upconverts) the signal to HD (1080 or native) and sends it to the DMD or light engine. See which inputs are distorted. If only DVI is clean then you problem is the analog board. If you menu and everything is distorted then suspect the DMD board. If you run component or DVI through the resolutions (480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i) you can get an idea between the digital board and dmd. The menu is generated on the digital board. Somewhere red is getting lost.

Too much green color

Problem solved. I tried playing DVD and the TV picture was fine. So I double-checked cable wires from cable box - one of the wires was loose (obviously it was the red color input). After tightening, the TV picture is good as new.
