(older) Dell Dimension 4600C Home Edition - Windows XP / Altec Lansing Multimedia 3 piece speakers (CHW 0241022). I am a computer nimrod but think that the set up we have here is relatively dinosaurus.
Did all of the trouble shooting and no change (nothing was muted, all volume controls were turned up, drivers installed with no errors detected, no hardware conflicts, power to speakers o.k., subwoofer plugged in, right speaker tied into subwoofer, right and left speakers connected). This system has worked before and now I have no idea why the sound has, more or less, suddenly vanished. We have been limping along and simply plug in headphones for sound but if more than one person is at the computer...
Thank you
John

Hello there
What kind of help on specific device from altec you need?
be more specific
SOURCE: Altec Lansing ada745 fuse
It is written on the sub. You can also take it out or look at the spare which is taped to the power cord wall plug. I believe it's T1A 250V fuse
SOURCE: Finding replacement Power Supply for Altec Lansing
I did the same! Thanks for suggesting a call to Customer Support (800)258+3288. The guy didn't seem overly pleased to help, but he did promise to send me a new power supply. Also, he said that they don't make the iM7 anymore, but I had already found out that the iM9 uses the same power supply. I, too, will wait and see.
SOURCE: I have Altec Lansing AVS 300 multimedia speakers with no power
Unfortunately the subwoofer supplies the power to the amp on the speakers, Once again I have the solution,
These speakers are factory molded so that the only way to open them is to break the factory seal
this can be done by sharply rapping the seam at the bottom of the speaker with a heavy screwdriver handle or something similar.
Now you need to supply power to the amp...If you do not have the subwoofer you will need a 4.5volt power supply, after removing the board from the casing find the red white and black wires connecting
the orange plug wire to it, Personally I removed the entire cord from the unit, shough you can splice in at this point if you desire.
Connect the white lead to your posative on your power supply by either splicing or soldering, connect the ground to the heat sink using the screw that is already there holding the chip to the sink. reassemble the speaker.....super glue... and you are now in business.

SOURCE: Need the pairing code for bluetooth device to my Altec Lansing
Hi if your intentions are too connect your Phone to that bluetooth device , The paring code is what you make it , when you connect the two device's together , When you search for devices it will ask you to pair with that device , and you make the code anything you wish....Otherwise have a look at the manual under connection , it should have .
I hope this helped bud
Happy new year

Usually answered in minutes!
have you tried another set of speakers?
if the jack is working to headphones it should give out a signal to the speakers
