Casio lens stuck (by 3 users)

posted by stalexone on Jun 03, 2007

My wife dropped our Casio Exilim z850. Lens is stuck halfway out and camera does not power on. This seems to be a normal problem with this camera but there have been no solutions posted. Some who have had this error state that the camera resets itself in several hours but I'd like to see if there is a more formulaic approach than just waiting. Any ideas?

Same happened to me. I can charge the camera but cannot get the lens to go back in or the camera to power on. When I press the button to take a picture, the green light flickers and I hear 2 quick double beeps (beep-beep, beep-beep) Was dropped on a carpet, not that hard.

I noticed that the lens was sticking out on center. After pushing it a little, it clicked and then everything worked fine again. I hope that's what happens for your camera, too.

If its been dropped it may never revoer a mechanism probably in the lens has been damaged or dislodged.
Repair shop or return to maker for this one

I had a similar problem, my camera was in my pocket and somehow the power button was pushed while I was walking.  the lens got stuck, I took the battery out, put it back in and hit power and the lens went back to a normal state.
However, now, everytime I power on the camera I have to set the time zone, date and time.  Its led to many a mised moment, or moment captured but I have no idea when they took place.
ANyone know how to fix that?
