Hard Reset
Press Vol-up&Vol-Down button at same time, Then press the power button.
This starts your devices Recovery Mode.You can do a Wipe/Factory Reset from there. Use the Vol Up&Down buttons to navigate and the power button to select.
Be Careful and DONT MESS with the Other options or you may Brick your phone.
While I am not fully knowledgeable about your tablet, many need sufficent memory before an update can be preformed. I would make sure you have the proper space requirements.
The mini USB cable that came with my tablet was lame and would only charge if held at a certain angle. Another cable worked fine. This is an ultra cheap tablet, and they cut corners everywhere they could.
