How to transfer data from 5.25 floppy disk to MacBook Pro?


You can get a 5.25 floppy disk reader that plugs into USB. It should be able to do the disks assuming they are still good. There are several places that sell them online. I have windows 7 and the Bytecc bt-144 will not work. the drive is not recognized and when i attempt to update it with the driver from the Bytecc web page the computer say the driver isup to date and will...


you might be installing the driver through the right process
click start right click on computer select properties device manager scroll through all of your devices if you see a yellow question or exclamation mark ? ! or a red X you will need to update the drivers for this device right click select update driver/reinstall driver
if you can see your usb device but its not working scroll to Ports(Com&Ltd) right click to update driver

Cannot copy files using BYTECC Bt-300


check the jumpers on the old drive and see if its powering on or spining up! some of these usb adapters just dont work on old drives if all else faisl open your system and connect it to your pata bus if you have one! if not then use another computer to extract your data and put it on another storage media e.g. flash drives ext hardddisk memory card or dvd or cd disk!

Installation of BT-146


Yes, you need to plug in a 4 pin FLoppy Molex connector. Your power supply should have at least one. The power connector is right next to the Floppy Drive connector.

Also, the Floppy connector goes in with pin 1 (The red stripe) to the left looking at the unit from the back (furthest away from power).

There is no manual to speak of.

The 7 pin connector is for the media card readers and needs to be plugged into a USB header on your motherboard. Not all motherboards have this header, so consult your motherboard manual. You may have to connect it in place of front USB connectors on your PC case.

The card reader will work without a separate power connection. The power connection is for the floppy drive only, and IS required for the drive to work. You should be able to find the appropriate connector on your power supply.

Make sure you plug in the power for the drive first, let it boot up for a second, THEN attach the adapter and the USB
