Does this board even work? Im sure this is a problem someone could shed some light on. I understand this site wants 19.00 to answer an easy question but a simple, "your camera is skrewed !", and Ill toss it in the trash after I extract my mini dv tape from it.

Here is my solution to this board. Buy a new video camera, one that is not JVC and search for solutions on a different non pay board. Here is how I fixed the problem.

Step 1.) Get a big flathead screwdriver

2.) Jam it in the JVC camera

3.) Use all your strength and bust the mini dv tape out

    4.) Drop kick video camera

5.) Throw away the pieces and buy anything but JVC Products.

Try to replace loading motor

In the case the encoder position is not shifted
to the next point though the loading motor has
rotated in the loading direction for 4 seconds
or more. This error is defined as [E01].

1. The mechanism is locked during mode shift.
2. The mechanism is locked at the mechanism loading
end, because the encoder position is skipped during
mechanism mode shift.
3. No power is supplied to the loading MDA

Eo1 comes on says take out battery and put back in should work but donot need to use camera now.

JVC camcorders are known for having safeguard problems.
mine was locked into safeguard the second time i tried to use it at 1 month old. i had it repaired and it came back eating the tapes. eating the tapes was blamed on old, or improper tapes. they were all brand new never used JVC tapes.
it came back from service locked in safeguard mode.
i got it back the fourth time and it worked for a few days, then went back into safeguard mode.
the shop had it more than i did during the first year.
when it locked the next time after the warranty was out, i was told the estimate for repairs was $300.00.
unless you want to try to risk taking it apart, the only 2 options you have is to send it in for repairs which is not cheap, or throw it away and never buy anything from JVC again.
i chose option 2.
