Question about Bosch KSU49630 Top Freezer Refrigerator
I have got a Bosch KSU405216W fridge which I purchased 3 years back. For last 2 days its not wrking, in the top freezer section its little bit cold but in Fridge compartment its warm and Alarm light on top panal is ON. Cleaned the freezer, defrosted everything completely but the problem is still there.
Compressor is hot at the back....
Could you please help in rectifying the problem and plz advise where the Defrost timer would be in this fridge.

SOURCE: Bosch Cooler is broken
im taking it that the cooler you refer to is actually a general fridge. if its not working, it is either your th/stat which has not reset or if not, assuming your fridge is an auto defrost, look behind the freezer and locate the timer. you should see a plastic knob plus/minus in the middle of the timer. turn the knob and listen if refrigerator comes on. if not call a tech.

Have looked at the schematics for this cabinet and am unsure as to the location of both defrost thermostats as unclear on drawings. The purpose of the defrost thermostat is to overide the heater and end the defrost cycle, once the temperature on the evaporator is high enough (normally around 0'C). If you have two then one will probably control the heaters going off and the other may well control the fan, for coming back on. I.E. once the defrost has ended the second sensor will tell the fan when the coil is cold enough to come on, this prevents heat being pushed into the main area after a defrost cycle. If you feel competent enough then I would bypass the heater thermostat temporarily and see if the heaters kick in. The other thing to check is that you have a resistance across the two ends of the defrost heater. In my experience the heater is the most likely to fail, the sensor sometimes fail and the timers rarely fail. The age of your cabinet would suggest the heaters. Please do not leave the sensor bypassed as it performs an essential role. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Auto defrost not working
a manual defrost will help in the sense that it will healp save your food now if you dont mind spending a little cash may i suggest you go buy a eurika 350 hand held steamer its great for defrosting and about 1000 other thuings around your house you canget it at lowes places like that after defrosting the unit will freeze again in about two to three days depending on how many times you open your door reply to this thered with the appox age of your unit and i can better advise from there some times as in the case of a stuck theroma stat if seen it fix them but i wouldnt count on it hold my rating tii we are done

th ebi-metal is a thermostat which shuts the defrost heater on/off, but doesnt actually put the unit into defrost. if it were bad the defrost heater would never go on resulting in massive build up of ice on back wall of freezer, and noticable refrigeration sect. cooling.. dont know how you know the compressor never shuts down, but if that the case perhaps you have a sealed system/ freon issue. try removing the back panel of freezer section and check the evaporator coil. you shuld have an even frost pattern over the entire evap coil. if theres just frost over the top 1or 2 coils, and the rest of coil is shiny aluminum , thats an indication of a sealed system issue.( 5 year part warr by manufacture) def not a do it yourself issue...but that would,, depending on extent of restriction/loss of freon,, cause freezer to freeze and defrost eratically, and the compressor would be running constantly trying to achieve a good stable temp

Sounds like a defrost problem. Check to see if
there is any frost buildup in the back wall of the freezer. If so, it is not
defrosting as it should.
