Problem for LG RH-4820 DVD Recorder

LG RH-4820 DVD Recorder when turned on from standby mode states "please wait" in the display window, but wont now go to the main menu. It continues saying "please wait" until i turn off the machine, so nothing works. Tried unplugging but no success. it was doing this periodically in the past but resolved itself after a few hours. This time the problem has persisted for 2 weeks.
15 months old , no longer under warranty.

- Thanks for the quick reply, but i dont know what loading sensors are, and that term not in my manual.
