Boot into safe mode by tapping the F8 key on startup, once you're in safe mode, run the system restore tool (usually in start -> program files -> accessories -> system tools -> system restore) to a few days earlier and restore. After that, install an Anti-virus application, such as AVG Anti-Virus, and scan your computer to remove the problems.

Hope this help!

Blue screen appears & keep restarting

It is possible that the malware is to blame, in which case a computer technician will need to sort it out.

I think it may be a bad memory module or loose memory module connection.

Take care!

We have a Gateway Laptop running on Vista. Turned it on this morning and got the "blue screen of death" that said it had a Fatal Error KnownDLL 000021a and a bunch of other numbers. We read that...

Just press and hold F8 on startup (before the Windows logo appears). You should get the screen with the title Advanced Boot Options and the following menu. (which I get on my Gateway NV5915h)

Choose Advanced Options for: Vista (Windows 7 on my Gateway NV5915h)
(Use the arrow keys to highlight your choice.)

Repair Your Computer

Safe Mode
Safe Mode with Networking
Safe Mode with Command Prompt

Enable Boot Logging
Enable low-resolution video (640x480)
Last Known Good Configuration (advanced)
Directory Services Restore Mode
Debugging Mode
Disable automatic restart on system failure
Disable Driver Signature Enforcement

Start Windows Normally

Description: View a list of system recovery tools you can use to repair
startup problems, run diagnostics, or restore your system.

Try's to boot up, but goes to small blue screen

When your computer hardware appears to power up okay, but the Windows XP operating system won't boot properly, you have to begin a troubleshooting expedition that includes getting into the operating system, determining the problem, and then fixing it. To help you get started on this expedition, here are 10 things you can do when Windows XP won't boot.

#1: Use a Windows startup disk

#2: Use Last Known Good Configuration

#3: Use System Restore

#4: Use Recovery Console

#5: Fix a corrupt Boot.ini

#6: Fix a corrupt partition boot sector

#7: Fix a corrupt master boot record

#8: Disable automatic restart

#9: Restore from a backup

pls 4 stars .... :-)

Some files have gone missing or corrupted. Could be Windows files or driver files. You can't replace the device as it's built-in on the motherboard. What you can try is to remove the driver, restart the PC, and reinstall. If that doesn't work, boot with the Windows installation CD and choose to repair Windows. Try updating the driver too.

You can also try setting the IP to be static in your notebook instead of letting the router set it through DHCP.

I've had a problem like this before but it's not even the wifi's fault. Try disabling one by one your startup programs. It happened to me that a program tries to connect to the network on startup but since wifi takes longer to connect than ethernet, it crashes and brings down Windows with it.

If it's still not working, I suggest disabling it and just get yourself a USB Wifi dongle...

Hi, when i start my laptop up in normal mode it crashes and a blue screen comes up, it will only starts in safe mode

The hard disk must be completely crashed. On the laptop in safe made and access the internet and download a registry optimizer ( full product, not the trail one ) and make it run. It will surely will be able to fix and optimize your hard disk. Then try to start it in normal mode. A website for registry optimizer download is " download.cnet.com ". Good luck for your good laptop.

Won't boot - brief blue screen

Press F8 while booting but before it goes into SAFE mode select "Temporarily disable restart." Now you should be able to read the Blue Screen. If this doesn't work it's likely you have the GenericFX virus and you'll need to repair the operating system.

Crashes all the time

You could try to start in safe mode by pressing F8 and restore last configuration used to see if it works.

If not i am afraid you have to use the Windows CD and try the repair mode. If you have anything on it which you can't delete never format it.

But first try to see if you can boot in safe mode. If you can boot in safe mode we can turn off the setting so you can see what the blue screen is about. If you can't go in safe mode you have to use the Windows CD. Sorry....

Good Luck,
