Question about Canon S900 InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Cannon S900 not printing

You gave a great explanation on how to fix clean the S900 that wasn't printing. Did you have a diagram ( you seem to mention it). I'm having a bit of trouble understanding some of the parts.

Thanks for any help.

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

The printer has flashing light, it rotates between yellow and green but never turns to solid green light, It does not accept any print job. Please advise

Issue: Power light (or Alarm and Power lights) alternate(s) between orange and green
Solution: The S900 may require repair

Unfortunately, the issue you describe seems to indicate that your product requires repair service.

You could try updating the driver, also available at the link above but the manufacturer's website seems definite that repair is in order.

Sorry for this news.

How can fix if waste ink absorber is full for Canon PIXMA IP2000 ?

Hi there

Canon PIXMA IP2000
You may RESET the printer code first if you like or do it after you clean the pad
In some cases you may need to REMOVE THE PRINT HEAD FIRST or the reset code will not work. This was true of the S900 and i960 so, remove the print head first before doing this reset.
This is the correct code for the S and I (like i960) series of printers. (M series below this)
1) Power off printer
2) Hold RESUME button then press and hold POWER. (The beeper MAY sound once, or may not depending on your model.)
3) Hold POWER and Release RESUME.
4) Press RESUME twice then release both POWER and RESUME buttons.
5) When the indicator lights steady, press RESUME 4 times (for the S900, 3 times for the 8200 apparently).
6) Press power to set data.
7) Print away!
For other codes for other printers and more info go here to this big forum (but try the above first) Fix Your Own Printer Generally many of Canon's models use exactly this same code, the i models use the same code, all the s models use the same code.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Canon S900 Now prints murky and dull

Printing is Blurred/Colors are Wrong
? If a specific color does not print, check whether the corresponding ink tank is
empty. Replace if necessary.
? Print the nozzle check pattern to ensure that ink is ejected correctly.
If the nozzle check pattern does not print correctly, clean the printhead.
? Printing the Nozzle Check Pattern
? Printhead Cleaning
If the problem is not resolved after cleaning the printhead several times, the printhead
may be worn out. Contact the Customer Care Center.
Note ? Always ensure that you dispose of the protective cap and protective tape
from a printhead.
? Ensure that you are printing on the correct side of the media.
You can only print on one side of certain media.

The photographs from my Cannon S900 have lines running vertically down the picture. I have used Deep Cleaning. Where can I get a service in England. Regards - Trevor Young

Hi Trevor, if you check Canon's website they have a service centre run by a third party. They are pretty quick but not exactly cheap.
Have you done a head alignment print? It may be that the alignment is off and that's causing the line.
Do a nozzle check and see if any of the horizontal lines are missing anywhere (they are not meant to be straight - in case you were wondering).
I could be that despite your deep cleaning, one of the nozzles is not firing.
