Try getting the correct Acer Aspire 5100 drivers from the support website and installing. Try in Device Manager looking for the web cam, or any device with a little yellow excalamation. If all else fails, right click and Update from Windows Update. Maybe there is a switch for the web cam?
you did not say which Operating system you are using which is important as I am going to suggest you install the driver. at any rate I am going to give you the link where you can select your computer model and operating system from the drop down menus. from the horizontal menu choose driver and select your camera make
the driver for your USB webcam is missing after installing Vista.
Right click "Computer", open Properties, open Device Manager on the left, find if there is an alert saying unknown device or sth, if there is the unknown, update your webcam driver.
install your drivers brunella then do a windows update ignor when pop comes up says cant do it with the continue button hit continue on the driver install and do windows update
windows vista doesnt like the older equipment for some reason it doesnt work well with some new hardware just to let you know vista is still in its infancy stage getting better as its source and updates go along
