I have found a way to replace the batteries on the monkey truck.

First of all you have to consider if it is worth it. The monkey / banana truck takes three (3) LR44 batteries. I have looked and found these to cost $4.50 to $5.50 each.

If you choose to continue, please read all the way through the directions before continuing. Although my method does not require removing the decals, it does require damage to them.

1. Remove the truck from the Exersaucer. The base has four tabs that need to be slightly deflected to remove the base.

2. Turn the base over and remove the four screws holding the truck to the base. Remove the truck from the base.

3. Using a utility knife and following the seam in the plastic, make a slice down the center of the windshield decal and the back window decal.

4. Using a #1 Phillips head screwdriver, poke a hole in the decals of the front and rear driver's side windows. The hole is to be located halfway down the window, and an 1/8" (3mm) from the back or rear of the window respectively. In each hole, there is a Phillips head screw to be removed.

5. Remove the screw in each wheel on the driver's side.

6. Separate the two halves of the truck body, remove the center assembly. It may be stuck due to the glue on the side window decals. The yellow and red lights can be pushed out from the outside of the truck.

7. Locating the circuit board you can see the three batteries under retainers.

8. Remove the four screws holding the circuit board to the center assembly.

9. Bend up two tabs on the battery retainers and push the batteries out of the retainers.

10. Replace the batteries.

11. Reassemble in reverse order.

This is not an easy fix but it can be done. I have the circus model too and the carousel and the monkey car had stopped working. You need the following-1/2 hour free time, 1 miniature Phillips screwdriver with long neck, 4 LR44 button cell replacement batteries. Remove circus carousel from saucer top by squeezing tabs underneath. Locate and remove 4 very small screws [2 top/2 bottom]. The unit will seperate into 2 pieces and the drum will fall out. Look for brown circuit board with wires attached and gently slide this towards you and it will release from it's fitted slot. You will see 4 silver battery covers. The batteries are held under these by 4 teeth/tabs which must be gently lifted upwards with a knife in order to slide the battery out. Replace batteries, bend tabs back into place, slide circiut board back into slot, reposition small lights and drum and replace screws. Unfortunately, you cannot replace batteries in the monkey car without ripping off all the decals for the windshield in order to seperate it into 2 pieces...so I left that one alone.

Great information on the Exersaucer Monkey / Banana truck. I could not find those screw on the side windows until I saw this. I will add that you can use the AG13 button batteries as well, which are very cheap on Amazon.

Instructions on model 343 - 8909N crib from JCP. How do I turn it into a toddler bed?

Did it come with an extra sideboard that connects the end sides together after you take one side off? The mattress spring or board should be sufficient to hold the end sides together but some come with a toddler bed side rail.

Are there different types of toddler beds or a standard type in different styles?

There are quite a few varying types of toddler beds in the market. The first kind I will mention is a convertible crib. The great thing about a convertible crib is that it will last much longer. Some parents also find that a convertible crib eases the transition phase. Next there is the "captain bed" also known as a storage bed. This bed has built-in compartments everywhere - under the bed frame, in the footboards, even in the headboards. There are other types of toddler beds such as loft toddler beds, futon toddler beds, and platform toddler beds; however I think they are less popular and ultimately less safe for your toddler.
