Our computers keep crashing, if we unplug the modem for awhile then plug it in and reboot the computers it will work fine. It is just that it is doing often and I start an online course and don't know what I should be checking to fix the problem.

-   I have the same problem AND I already have the virus checker suggested. Our 'system' turns on and off about 8 times a day - just drops the Internet Explorer connection - even though the PC says the wireless status is "connected". I have a siemens 4100 modem and a lynksys router. They were working fine until I switched the pc to the laptop, now, the internet light will not come on. If I directly plug the modem to the laptop, all four lights are lit. When I plug in the router only three lights are lit. I have tried everything.
