Hi..
Are you sure?. The DC resistance on a primary winding is VERY low
( less than 4 ohms)
What happens if you disconnect all the secondary windings and plug the AC in?
If it's really broken I'd try the audiokarma.org blog /users group

I install a new limit switch and now something keep burning out the transformer i replace it also and something keep burning it out what the problem could be

All transformer comes with a current limit specification in terms of VA units. For example a 24 v secondary coil with 6 VA specification only can hold a current of of 4 amps for a short period of time. So to prevent that it burned out you only pass an 80% of that current, then it really can hold 3.2 amps continuously.
Other possibles causes for burning the transformer are:
1. Accidentally connecting the primary and secondary reversed, the secondary can not manage the voltage and current of the primary .
2. A coil or device that is connected to the secondary is demanding to much current because is shorted or stuck in a position causing an increase on current.
3. The primary have multiple taps to operate on different voltages and the combination is wrong.
3. Faulty wiring. Some times the insulation of the wires became worm, cracked or melted, with the wires torches the metal a short is produced and the transformer burns. Check the wires carefully.

Hope these tips help,.

Marantz sr5007 receiver dead after lightning strike

Hi Ridgep.
Replacement of the TOP258MG IC Should resolve your problem. Make sure you have fully discharged all the caps on the primary side of the power supply before fitting your replacement IC as they are very easily destroyed during installation.

How do I check the internal wiring for input voltage on a Marantz 4060 Quad Amp?

The only way would be a voltage selection switch on the back of the unit, or changing pigtail leads on the primary side of the power transformer.

I have a Marantz SR5500 and the unit will not stay powered on.

I have this problem. it is caused by an o/c mains transformer primary winding. the clicking and flashing light is the stanbyy circuit trying to switch the power on to the main (large) transformer when it gets no voltage out it switches back off

I had the same problem.

Just resolder the primary winding of the transformer on the PCB.

Works fine again

Marantz amplifier pm-34

the transformer has an internal thermal fuse. If you study the terminations coming out from the internals of the transformer you may notice either a pair of tinned thicker wires or insulated. This may be open circuit. I have often bypassed this internal fuse(they are notoriously common failures) to get a transformer going. You can get a replacement one from a parts supplier if you felt the need. I would just bypass it anyway.:)This may make the amp somewhat "illegal" in the US. We use the MEN (multiple earth neutral) mains power distribution in Australia and the transformer(if melting) would short out to earth and blow the mains primary fuse, the internal thermal is a US requirement.
