I know a lot of us are having problems with our Xbox?s and it seems as though it is either a never ending cycle or Microsoft seems unwilling to truly assist us in addressing these issues.
I feel that if we all unite as a single force, we can open someone?s eyes! We need to get all the people together in one place! My suggestion is, let us grab all the gamers, friends, posters, bloggers, IMers, whoevers and get them all onto the Myspace page that I have created just for this reason. Send everyone you can! WE HAVE POWER IN NUMBERS!!!

Hi loads of people are having the same problem, xbox live must be
having some downtime or server issues if you was the only one then it
could be your end but in the last hour their have been loads of posts
regarding this problem and all users are getting the same message.
try switching you xbox off and back on and if it still dont connect
then your going to have to wait i would try again in an hour or two,
usually down time for the servers is a couple of hours while xbox
install updates to xbox live, its not a problem your end so dont get
changing any settings, the problem is with xbox live so just bare with
them and it will sort itself out.
the last time this happened was about 6months ago and the downtime was
just over 4 hours, so bare with them for a bit and it will be sorted.
you could try logging into the xbox site on the net and not through
your xbox and check the xbox chat rooms and you will be able to find
out more their.
let me know if you need further assistance ok
plz rate this solution as i have a whole page on unrated posts, thanks
There is probably something wrong with your hard drive or connection, as far as I know, the hard drive itself is not serviceable, (though I would love to be proven wrong if I am). If you can, try to get your hands on another hard drive, maybe borrow one from a friend, and try it on your console. If it works then your hard drive is toast, if not then you have a problem with the connection to you console. I don't have a repair proceder for the console connection problem as I have not yet experianced that particular issue and was unable to find someone who has, try calling 1.800.4my.xbox if a replacement hard drive does not work.
Seems like your hard drive might have crashed. I would suggest buying a new one, as well as perhaps buying an Xbox 360 memory unit. It's a lot cheaper to buy a new hard drive than it is to buy an entire new Xbox 360, plus you already have a working console, just not a working hard drive. As far as I know, there is no way to fix a hard drive that's messing up. I would contact Microsoft just in case though. Otherwise, buy a new hard drive and sadly, start from scratch. Another thing I would try first though, is testing the hard drive on another console. If it works on the other console, it might be your original console that isn't working (not the hard drive). (You can only do this if you have a detachable hard drive though of course.) If you don't have a detachable hard drive, you won't be able to replace it by simply buying a new one and you won't be able to test to see if it's the hard drive or the console in which case, you have to contact Microsoft regardless.
The Xbox 360 does not like to be moved when playing a disk some of the mechanics may have misaligned or slightly out of sync this may be reason the DVD drive is making those sounds.
I strongly recommend you remove any visible dust from the 360 especially the sides and air vent holes using a vacuum cleaner. Once youve cleaned it place it horizontal (never on carpet) on a flat surface well ventilated away from other devices that generate a lot of heat.
As for the 'shredding sound', place in **** game into the 360 when it starts to make those sounds again gently tap the 360 on top (where the DVD drive is) until it stops making that sound. This doesnt always work but has for me and many others.
My experience tells me that dust can build up not only inside the 360 but also the drive itself which can lead disc read errors and the sounds and you mentioned.
Remember DUST and HEAT is the 360's biggest enemy and can cause RROD, 1 Red Light Problem, and disk errors.
XBOX 360 generate lot of network errors ........ so don't worry,
you can solve this easily ..... i got some problem with my XBOX360 and its
resolved by the help of Repair Guide it covers network problems thoroughly so check
this out !! it will definitely helps youCLICK
A lot of people have had this problem after the most recent spring update.
If in the error message it said "can't retrieve media rights try again later" All you have to do is delete your original media rights.
If not, you may have to call Microsoft for a solution.
