Question about Nikon Coolpix 5600 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Cannot take more than one pix w/o having to turn camera off.

My nikon takes great pixs. however after I take 1 pix a little red light flashes and AF appears on sctreen. then camera will not take another pix unless I shut camera off andrestart it. Same procedure repeats itself.

What could be the problem? I find it frustrating as "I love my camera and miss being able to use it when needed.

Thank you.........Tia

The focus motor could be dirty. Replace the lens, or take it apart and blow it out. Parts are usually available at online auction houses or the manufactures web site.

Sounds like the memory card in the camera has gone bad, or the camera has glitched. Try replacing the card. If it still does it, the cam has issues.

I visited a brick-and-mortar camera store and asked a repair specialist. There I learned that the problem with my camera is a firmware problem and not worth fixing. I'll throw away the camera and buy another $150 disposable camera.

Try switching to Shutter Prority (S) with a fast shutter speed. If the light is not so good, up the iso to 800 to gain that faster shutter speed..

You do not say the lens in use ? if VR, make sure its switched on or use a tripod.

Hope this helps

Yes! Send the camera to Nikon with the service form. It takes about 3 weeks, free of charge.

I believe that means the range is from 4 seconds exposure to 1/1000 second exposure time, and does not refer to the number of flashes.
Some cameras will flash several times before the main flash while taking a picture if it is set to red-eye reduction (because the first 3 flashes make the subject's pupils go smaller).
Under normal flash photography, there will be only one flash.
If you set the camera to automatic, it will do most ofthe work for you.

Try changing the batteries. I think that is how it says it needs more juice to charge the flash.
