Question about GE 106766 Bagged Canister Vacuum

1 Answer

Wires pulled out of the plug and I don't know which one goes wher

I have a ge canister vacuum model 106766 and the receptical on the top of the vacuum canister had the wires pull out of the wire ends that clip on the receptical. A red one and a blue one. Since the plug that goes into it can only plug in one way, it is important to have the wires correct. Can you tell me which one goes where?

I have a short in my hose for the GE 2 motor canister vacuum model106766 where do i get just the hose to replace it

Hi,

Here is a website for parts for your vacuum: http://www.appliancefactoryparts.com/vacuumcleaners/brands/ge/106766.html#Other%20Parts

I hope this helps. I was confused by your statement that you have a short in your hose. Are you saying that something is wrong in the motor or that you need a new hose for the vacuum? The above website whould get you a hose for the vacuum. For the motor, Do a google search for the GE homepage, then click on the customer service, or support tab.

Good luck,
Hope this helps, if it does, I would appreciate a vote or comment. Thanks,

Handie Andie

I believe you are looking for this part number: E-71986-1 and they have it at
www.ApplianceFactoryParts.com , put the part number in their search box and it should come up. Cost is about twenty dollars including the shipping.

When I was vacuuming this morning it smelled like burnt oil or something. The powerhead was not working when I checked. Can I get a new powerhead or is there another solution?

It sure sounds like your belt is burned off. You need to have it looked at before replacing the unit that's for sure. If the sweeper assy. under the vac is not turning than the belt is broken. Go to GE 106766 belt on the web and you sould be able to get it delivered to your door. Good Luck.

The powerhead is weak, the brush turns until it is placed on carpet.

Empty the dirt collector. If there is insufficient air flow, the brushes will not spin.

GE canister vac 106766 power not going to brush head

Try checking the hose connector cord (short cord from bezel outlet to hose). Also, check the prongs on on extension wands.

Moter for power head

There should be a toll - free phone # on your rating plate (located on belly of the main canister) to call for parts.
