It can be done - Here is a guide on your motherboard

Please note in most circumstances an attempted overclock will void the warranty on both your motherboard and CPU - this means if you do it wrong (Which is very easy when overclocking) you will not be able to exchange the part

A rule of thumb from an overclocker is dont push a part you cant afford to replace; Overclocking is more of an Art then a Skill as in is unpredictable and very precise adjustments must be made to ensure stability.

Having said all that here is a link to a page that involved overclocking your particular model;

Once again I advise not to try this unless you are confident

Good Luck!

Furthermore assure you know how to clear your CMOS on your motherboard if you are unable to boot due to overclocking - This will clear your BIOS data to its defaults.

I checked the motherboard - It has basic overclocking features, enough to provide the speed boost you may be looknig for

You need to check your BIOS. If you can overclock you will see a selection for CPU and speed in BIOS. If not there then your motherboard does not allow you to overclock your CPU.

I want to upgrade the mother board in my Vaio PCV-RZ44G Desktop so that I can run Windows 8. What board forms are compatible and is an Intel I3 or I5 CPU better?

You would be better off applying the money to a new computer. You are opening "Pandora's Box" . You will end up with a old case with ALL new components. That may or may not work, A.K.A., "pain and heartache".

Can I overclock the Dell XPS 8300?

Your processor can be overclocked by increasing the multiplier either via BIOS settings, or by using Intel's Desktop Control Center. It's worth noting that overclocking will void your warranty, cause your CPU to generate more heat and may cause your CPU to become unstable.

Always get your drivers and specific software from the manufacturer of your Laptop, Notebook or Desktop. They are usually free of charge.

If you were to log on to the manufacturer's web site, usually one is able to download if available, by model number, All available Driver downloads as required.

If the driver is not available, perhaps your manufacturer does not support the OS you are installing.

This is the best way of ensuring up to date drivers for your system and they are free of charge!

I hope this helps.

Does asus make a motherboard that u can overclock. have a asus p6t deluxe v2 motherboard...does the rampage 2 motherboard be overclocked without any problems?

Some motherboard manufacturers make there motherboards (MoBo) "Overclock-friendly", and yes Asus does make the motherboards that are in that category. If the one you currently have lack of that feature, you could get third party software but be carefull and read the instructions before you change anything. Besides, take into consideration that you have to have optimal cooling devices for your component such as air cooling or water cooling before you overclok anything in your computer, keep this in mind: overclocking=heat increase

How to overclock my motherboard ?

there are 2 ways, overclocking using the bios to over clock the memory ( ram ) and also the processor ie changing the multipliers and other tweaks ( which should be in your motherboards manual ) that or using jumpers which are physically on the motherboard but later motherboards use the bios to tweak / over clock your computer.
