Volume decreases during use

Very simple. It is not a defective unit. Simply a matter of volume attenuation, hold the "function" and "grove"keys for aprox 5 seconds until a message saying vac off appears. Problem solved. Resets itself eveytime the unit is turned off .
enjoy!!!

My 2455AV-02 Califone will not operate if I power it up; I have to wait 30 minutes to an hour before radio, Cd player will play and function. They will function with no problem after the wait time. What is...

sounds like power supply capasiters or transformer. but most likely a cold solder joint in the same area. heat the player with your hairdryer for a few minutes and then see if it comes on faster. if not freezer is in order. freeze it and try it again. If either of the temp tests work it is a cold solder joint.

Not if the same brand as the unit. Sensor may went bad or has the remote been damaged or spilled on?

Panasonic RX DT 707/ How do I remove the speaker grills so I can clean out the dust balls inside? Thanks

Hi there, the grills are incorporated into the cassing ,so you will have to dismantle the unit, which is actually very easy, all you need to do is remove the 8 screws from the back of the unit, then lie it on it's back, and gently but firmley(can take a bit of force) prise the unit in half ,as all thats keeping it together at this stage is the speaker connector plug, located on the inside, right by the earphones socket.Once the unit is appart ,carfully unplug and remove the 4 speakers,I found the best way to clean inside the grills,is to shower them and you can also use a soft nail brush and soap,to get the grime out of the grills.Make sure it's all dry before putting it back together.
Hope this helps
Jack.

BOOMBOX WONT PLAY ON BATTERY OR ELECTRIC WHAT WRONG WITH IT

Dear kbusse:

Does the switch feel like it's broken( switch pushed too far in,switch too far out)?

If there is a remote does that turn the unit on? Inside the unit by the power cord connection to the transformer should be a fuse; check to see if the fuse has blown. I hope these suggestions help.

Good Luck
George

You're welcome in advance.
This particular unit was advertised to be unbreakable when dropped due to its shock absorbers; therefore dropping it will fix it.

Boombox CD player

Hi Could be bad spin motor, but the first thing to try is load the cd and put your ear to the unit and listen for a ticking sound...if there is, then the laser is trying to focus. If not ticking, there is likely a serious problem, and the whole unit should be replaced. If you hear the lense bouncing up and down, then it is likely a dirty lense or bad laser. To clean it, use a cotton swab and wet the end with at least 70% USP rubbing alchohol(99% better). Touch the swab to the lense and a drop should form on the lense, gently move the drop around to loosen any debris, and then use a dry swab and touch it to the lense to absorb the drop. Try the unit, and if it was dirt on the lense, it should work, if not the boombox should probably be replaced. Good Luck!
