Hi, this problem is going to be with the running thermostat2.gif (cold Control). It has gone bad and stays open which in turn will keep the compressor running continually and will cause the fridge2.gif to get colder and freeze food. It can normally be located in the control panel inside the fridge (it is the control that has wires, the other is the damper). Locate the thermostat and replace it. If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to comment again. Good Luck!! Mike

Compressor not comming on somtimes / freezer staying cool not cold / fridge cold

Turn the termostat to high, check the following morning. If unit is not cooling you need to replace the compressor. However, before replacing compressor make sure all the fans are working.

My GE Compact Fridge doesn't start up, even though I left it standing upright overnight and turned the temperature dail clockwise. Yes, it's plugged in. :)

Ok so I will assume from your post that you turned the dial completly to the coldest setting and that the compressor does not come on (nothing comes on, no fans no compressor). Did you just plug it in and attempted to start it ? There is usually a delay in starting your compressor, it should come on within 10-15 minutes - if not, try turning the dial back to off and then turn it back towards the coldest - do you hear any "clicking" where the dial is at (thermostat) ? If it does not start you may have a compressor relay problem or control board problem - But for your compact refrigerator I would say more likely a bad compressor or relay / capacitor, etc.

Freezer works fridg dosent stay cold

When plugging it back in, check to see if you can feel air circulation (from vents in the top-rear) on the refrigeration side.
Check again after the fridge starts to warm.
There is a fan which is supposed to distribute the cooled air from the freezer to the fridge; this may be failing after the fan has warmed from operation. The bearings in these is primitive and can get sticky impeding the fan's rotation. Replacement of that fan is not covered by the (longer) compressor warranty.

Freezer not freezing food and fridge not staying cold enough

Check the compressor with a volt meter, if the compressor is getting proper voltage then check the relay. But this sounds like a problem with the compressor

Fridge not staying cold

did you let the fridge stay in it's new place for 24 hours up right before turning it on?
Try turning it off for at least 24 hours and start it back up again.
If you moved it on its side the compressor oil flows into the lines and must beable to drain back down before using it.
If not you'll seeze the compressor.
not good.
