Hi

I remember this pc very well, i would go into the cmos settings and select the default settings and save it, and then reboot the pc and see if that makes a difference.

F1 is probably the key to enter the Bios setup utility. Press and hold the F1 key immediately after you start the machine. Go to the boot priority section, and set your CD-Rom as first boot device. Press f10 to save the settings and reboot with your recovery disk installed

Then the problem must be a software related one. Something your adding to the system (knowingly or unknowingly) is causing this.

Install your recovery disks and immediately put on Avira Antivirus software.

http://download.cnet.com/Avira-AntiVir-Personal-Free-Antivirus/3000-2239_4-10322935.html?part=dl-10322935&subj=dl&tag=button&cdlPid=11012914

Then update it from the web. ensure it checks all files on open and close. The point is i think you maybe installing something with a virus in it. better to check your system thoughout.

Avira is the best free one there is. Nothing compares.

I bought a packard bell pb1009 notebook but its asking for a pin code how can I unlockit?

IF it is windows 10:

Create administrator account for Windows 10 with command line As you've lost access to all your user accounts, you can't open a Command Prompt in Windows 10. Therefore, you need to get a Command Prompt and use command lines with the help of a Windows 10 setup/installation disc.

Step 1: Boot your PC from a Windows 10 setup/installation disc.
Tips: If you have no any Windows 10 disc, burn a Windows 10 ISO to a USB or CD/DVD drive to instantly create one.

Step 2: When you get to Windows Setup screen, press Shift + F10 to bring out a cmd.exe dialog. Then execute the following three command lines.

1. Type move d:\windows\system32\utilman.exe d:\windows\system32\utilman.exe.bak and press Enter to make a copy of utilman.exe file.

2. Type copy d:windows\system32\cmd.exe d:\windows\system32\utilman.exe and press Enter to replace utilman.exe file with cmd.exe file.

3. Type wpeutil reboot, press Enter, and disconnect the Windows 10 disc from the computer to reboot Windows 10.
Note: Replace d:\ with your system drive letter.

Step 3: When Windows 10 reboots up and comes to the sign-in screen, click the Ease of Access icon. This should open a Command Prompt dialog because you have replaced the Utilman.exe file with cmd.exe file in the second step above. Then execute the following two command lines to create a new admin account for your Windows 10.

1. Type net user /add [username] [password] and press Enter to create a new user account.

2. Type net localgroup administrators [username] /add and press Enter to add the newly created user account to your Windows 10 administrator group.

Cannot switch on wireless connection Packard bell laptop does not have switch

Wireless problems with a Packard Bell PC or laptop can be caused by a variety of issues.

The best troubleshooting resources are the documentation that came supplied with the computer, and the Support section of the Packard Bell website.

Unable To Detect Wireless Network

If the Packard Bell machine is unable to detect a wireless network, the computer itself or the network could be at fault.

Check that a wireless signal is being broadcast via another PC or device, and check that are wireless adapter is installed, complete with the latest drivers, which are available at the Packard Bell website.

Unreliable Wireless Network

If the wireless connection is unreliable, intermittent or very slow, it suggests a problem with the Wi-Fi broadcast.

Try positioning the computer closer to the router broadcasting the wireless signal, or use a signal booster to improve the range.

Download and install the latest driver updates from the Packard Bell website and through the Windows Update tool.

Unable To Connect To Wireless Network

If the computer can detect the network but is unable to connect to it, a network security key may be required. This should have been configured by the person who set up the network. Consult the documentation that came with your router for details of how to change it or generate a new key.

Hope this helps

Who owns the old packard bell computor company

Packard Bell is a Dutch computer manufacturer and a subsidiary of Acer. The name was previously used by Packard Bell, an American radio manufacturer founded in 1926.[1][2] In 1986, Israeli investors bought the name for a newly formed personal computer manufacturer. Originally the company produced discount computers in the US and Canada. When it left the North American computer industry in 2000, it quickly became a leader in the European and African markets. NEC took it over in the late 1990s. The Taiwanese computer manufacturerAcer acquired it in 2008.[3] ( source: WIki. )

I want to reformat PB MS2303

Packard Bell is a computer manufacturer, now owned by Acer. Restoring your computer will erase the hard drive and install a fresh copy of Microsoft Windows. This is beneficial if the Packard Bell is showing its age and running extremely slow or has been hit with an incurable virus infection. Before attempting to restore the system, be sure to back up any data you wish to save.

1.Insert the Windows Setup CD/DVD into the computer's optical drive. The disc will have been included with the Packard Bell computer.

2.Restart the computer with the disc inserted. A black screen will appear when the disc is detected, displaying "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD..." Press any key on the keyboard to launch the Windows installer. The "Install Windows" screen will appear.

3.Click "Next."

4.Select "I accept the license terms" and click "Next."

5.Click "Custom" when asked what type of installation you'd like. The other option is "Upgrade," but in order to restore your Packard Bell system to its factory settings, you must reformat the hard drive.

6.Click "Drive Options" when asked where to install Windows. Select the C: drive and click "Erase." Select the unallocated space after it has been erased, and click "Format." Format the space using the "NTFS" file system.

7.Click "Next" and Windows will begin reinstalling on the Packard Bell's hard drive. The system will reboot when finished and launch into your newly restored Packard Bell.

I have an old packard bell pc and it needs to be rebooted but i haven't got the original floppy reboot disc how can i do it without the disc ?

By rebooted, I assume you mean reinstalled? You cannot reinstall a PC this old without the operating system disk. New PC's have a utility partition that contains the reinstall package. You will have to purchase that OS from ebay or some other site.

I need to know how to reboot my packard bell pc

Under the start menu there should be an option to shut down; restart; sleep. Use the restart option & it will start rebooting. If this does not work then close all your programs and hit ctrl+alt+del twice. This should start a reboot. Hope this helps.
