Question about Akai PDP4294 42 in. EDTV-Ready Plasma Television
It really sounds like your power supply is having problems with heat and not enough cooling inside your tv. You should if you can take the back cover off, also, and blow out all the lint and dust that has been drawn into the tv over time. Usually a couple of years is enough to build up dust and lint that can cause tiny static discharges inside your set. If there is a way of keeping your set cooler by placing it in a different position where there is sufficient room for air to circulate without restriction around it, that would help as well. The power supply the one with the power cord going to it from the inside should be your culprit. Good luck and God bless.
