Kenmore HE2 Dryer Blades Loose

The blades inside the drum of my dryer came loose and have now fallen out. The screws are still inside. Is there a panel that I can remove to access the drum?

Yes. Depends on your model. The top, front and rear come off of some. Very easy fix. Your screws should be on the floor under the dryer.

Greetings,

take the door off by removing the screws....then, grab hold of the front panel and pull to you. this actually removes the whole front off the dryer....there are two screws, one in each corner removing them enables you to raise the top...I believe that three screws hold on the veins on... the screws go down from the top of drum into the part...it needs to be held into place while screwing in the screws....Bruce Denton

Mod 110.67741600 ser mu2020976 dryer drum is makeing a lot of noise

Check the baffles in the dryer drum to see if any are loose. If they are not loose, spin the dryer by hand to see if noise is from inside the drum. Sometimes you will get coins caught in the baffles and all you have to do is loosen the screws, and rotate the drum a little so the coins will fall out. Then tighten the screws up and replace the cabinet. You may also have a bad drum roller inside the machine.
If you could describe the sound to me, I will be able to help you a little more.

One of the tumbler blades is loose. How can I tighten the screws? I can see there are two screws holding the blade to the drum. What is the best way to get to the screws so I can tighten them? thanks

There are two clips that hold the lid down. they are located about one inch in from either side of the machine you can use a flat tip screwdriver and push them in and the lid will come up giving you access to the drum vein screws.

Inside the drum, one of the metal things is loose. It appears that it is held on with screws, so they are probably loose. Could you tell me teh easiest way to access the outside of the drum so I can...

The top cover needs to be lifted to the rear of the dryer to access the outside of the drum and tighten the baffle screws. But before the top cove can be lifted, the front panel must be removed first. Disconnect power to the dryer prior to servicing to avoid the risk of electric shock.

Open the dryer door and remove the four screws located vertically along the inside lip of the door opening. These screws hold the front panel to the front shroud assembly.

Once the four screws are removed, grasp and press in on the upper edges of the front panel posts then twist it inward to release the clips holding it to the cabinet. Tilt the top of the front panel and move it away from the dryer.

The top cover is held on each side of the cabinet by two hold down brackets. Locate and remove the 5/16" hex-head screws holding each bracket then swing the bracket to the outside and unhook it from the slot in the top panel lip.

Open the door then lift the front of the top panel and tilt it toward the rear of the dryer.

Rotate the drum until the baffle screws are on top to tighten it. Reinstall the top panel and the front panel by following the removal steps in reverse order.

How to I get to the drum? The fins in the drom have come unscrewed and fallen off. I need to get to the outside of the drum and screw them back on.

Access to the outside of the drum requires the removal of the front then the top panel. Disconnect power to the dryer prior to servicing to avoid the risk of electric shock.

Open the door and remove the four screws located vertically along the inside lip of the door opening. These screws hold the front panel to the front shroud assembly.

Once the four screws are removed, grasp and press in on the upper edges of the front panel posts then twist it inward to release the clips holding it to the cabinet. Tilt the top of the front panel and move it away from the dryer.

Open the door then lift the front of the top panel and tilt it toward the rear of the dryer.

Rotate the drum until the screw holes appear at the top of the drum and screw the baffles back into position.

Reinstall the top panel and the front panel by following the removal steps in reverse order.
