Re: fan 2 replacment

You still a problem. If you have visually verified that the fans are functioning with the unit on and the error message still comes up then it has to be a problem in the fan detection circuit, located on the actuator board. There is an ASC (Authorized Service Center) bulletin on this issue, #ASC20041116003 along with many other bulletins in the service manual. If you need the service manual email me privately and I'll send it you you. ( The two fans you have in that unit are for the (1)DMD board and (2)Lamp. If you were to test anything I'd start by ESR testing the caps in the detection circuit. C525 and C565 would be my first guess, both are 100uf/25v. If you would rather skip the testing and just replace the board I believe the Samsung part number BP94-02149K and they cost around $60.00 plus shipping, but be VERY VERY VERY careful replacing this board for it is highly static sensitive. My best recommendation would be to have a service center come out and replace it... If the tech blows it, putting it in you're out nothing... Good Luck! Bill

New TVs have fans to help cool their circuitry. Sounds like your fan #2 is bad. Remove the back which means removeing all the screws around the perimeter as well as in the middle and don't forget the ones in the small signal area. When the back is off you should be able to see the problem, aka, lots of dirt around the fans. Move the unit to the outdoors and using an air hose blow all the dirt out of the unit.

Once this is done you should go to and put in your model number. Do a search for a fan. If you believe that this is the part you need order it. I suspect that all the fans are the same.

Remove and replace fan number two and you should be able to reinstall the unit. Let me know if you need more help.

The DMD board you installed is bad. It senses the detection line from the fan and generates the error code. Try installing the old DMD board.

Tv cuts off by it self. flashes message on bottom of screen check fan no. 2.

You haven't said which Samsung projector you have so I have to give you a generalised answer: The projector is overheating and going into protective mode.

Do as the message says: check the cooling fans as you won't know which one is fan no.2. Mostly it's simply the air filters which have clogged with dust and they're always easy to remove and clean. If you wash the filters they must be bone dry before you reinstall them.
