Question about Projection Televisions

1 Answer

My plasma tv is about 3-4 years old and has worked great. Yesterday i went to turn it on and heard no sound. Picture was there , but there was no sound except for a clicking noise. I thought it might be the speakers, and so bought a receiver and hooked up external speakers to it, but the clicking sounds also happens on the external speakers.

Hi.

Modern sets dont like power surges which is what happens when supply goes on & off.

I would think that something is damaged it will be expensive to repair.
My advice would be get A shop to check it for you If you can ask them to see if this problem in there opinion is due to power surge.
If you have house hold insurance new for old make A claim.

Hope this helps.

Please count the blinks if it is a repeating pattern and post the model number. This is a relatively common problem, but the solution is dependent upon the model number.
Thanks,

SOUND BUT NO PICTURE

try resoldering the vertical output IC. have seen bad solder on that model make the picture tubes blank as a safety feature when vertical deflection drops out.
