That's an item a tech would have to look at. If the machine is sparking bad, find your local service center.

Cable has come loose in the handle. Still going strong after 16 years and we had 5 children and live on a farm so lots of dirt to vacuum. How do I get access in to handle to refix wiring please

without the model its hard to say. Personally if you like it that much I would take it to a vacuum repair ship so it can be fixed properly and serviced(motor cleaned, belts changed etc).

I sucked up a sock and think it's in the hose

Remove the hose from the vacuum cleaner and push a broom handle all the way through the hose. If its in there, that will remove it.

The carpet attachment is turning but not sucking.

Check the clips that attach the hose to the front of the Rainbow. If one is broken, then it will leak air and reduce performance.

Brush does not turn on my vaccum

If there is no suction when you disconnect the beater bar assembly near the hand hold where you grab the vacuum, then there may be either a restriction in the vacuum line between there and the vacuum section (that rolls around behind you), or the vacuum line from the handle point to the rollaround section is not properly connected. This all assumes the vacuum motor in the rollaround is running.

The beater bar section does nothing but cause dirt particles to be sucked into the vacuum system. The vacuum or suction is created in the rollaround unit.

I had the same problem with my vacuum. I called in for technical service and was told to push the "reset button". It turns out that there is a small red button right next to the dirt indicator light. I pushed the button, plugged the vacuum back in and started it up and it worked like a charm! :) Hope this helps!

Oreck vacuum won

Sounds like the motor, fan chamber and the end cover for the fan chamber is not all of the way in place. They have to be on right on top of the scew posts.
