Question about Canon PowerShot SD400 / IXUS 50 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Digital Camera I have a cannon powershot. When I view it in play mode its fine. When I try to take a picture it displays the cannon logo on the screen will not open the lense part and then beeps four times. I don't recall it ever being dropped. is this something I can fix myself? is this a serious problem? How much is it going to cost me to get it fixed? Thanks

Re: Digital Camera

Beep signals should be mentioned in the manual, perhaps on the more comprehensive manual in the PDF file on the CD. Each set of beeps have a meaning. Check out the Canon tech support team.

Cannon PowerShot A80. Pictures come out with red tint and what appears to be horizontal lines across complete image. However, record video without problem.

If camera shows previously taken pictures in playback mode and does notshow live view to take fresh pictures then it is ccd imager chipfailure. CCD imager will be replaced in your Canon A80 camera.

LCD screen doen't display the view

So camera doesn't give live view to take picture? and you can view old / stored  pictures OK, is it?
If yes, then it is problem of CCD imager in Canon A80 and this part needs to be replaced.
Canon will repair your A80 free of cost as per announced scheme of CCD imager support.

Canon A75 No startup sound & display on LCD, rest of things works fine

Think it might be your batteries. 700mah batteries are pretty weak by today's standards (most are at least 2,500 mah these days). I'm guessing your batteries are several years old? If so, they're really only meant to have a usable shelf life of a few years, whether they are used or not. Recommend trying a new set of rechargeable batteries.
