Question about HP LaserJet 1020 Printer

The printing on some letters smudges

Some letters were returned by the postal service and when opened some of the printing on the letter had transferred to the folded up part of the page.

Hello sir; Try to print out one page, use you finger to rease it ,is the image come off ? if answer yes, replace fusing unit.

Printing is fine, copying is a black smudge


if you print correctly, the damage was photocopied unit, should be dirty, it should be cleaned.

Whenever I print in envelope size there is always smudges. But when on plain letter size there are'nt any smudges. Pls. help me.


Check and change the paper type .May be the envelope you are using has different kind of paper so you need to select the particular paper type to fix this problem

Too much toner on paper which then smudges


Try reducing the print resolution using the menu buttons. Does it smudge with coloured prints? If so then the fuser unit is faulty. If it is only black that smudges it is likely to be the K Developer unit. Ensure that you are using genuine toners, not refills or third party as the quality of toner can cause similar results.

u have to take printer service center becase in your printer has a gare problem thats y he take more 2 or 3 pages one time or its clibatition is missed so u take your prinetr to printer repaire & solve this problem
