Question about Canon PowerShot SD1000 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Blurry pictures I've had this camera for almost a year and everytime I want good pictures (vacation, birthdays, xmas) I'm disappointed with the quality of my pictures. So many of my pictures turn out blurry. And sometimes they'll look fine when reviewing on the camera, but when downloaded to my computer, the quality is poor. Some people say they keep their's on the auto setting, I find I need to keep mine on the nighttime setting to get decent pictures. Any sugggestions with settings, etc to help me get better quality pictures from my camera?

I am having the same problem.  I use the "auto" setting and the photos look fine on the camera.  When I upload them to Walgreens website to order prints, Walgreens says the photos are "low resolution" and recommends not printing them.  I printed them anyway and they are so blurry.

I just had a baby and all my pictures are terrible.  It is really upsetting.  I tried a few solutions from the user manual - none of them worked.

Recenlty I started to get blurry photos. I should say only what is moving is blurry. For example at my granddaughter's birthday party, when she is reading her birthday card, he card and her hand only...

the shutter speed is too slow, perhaps you need to switch your camera to "auto", or if you like the manual control try 1/125 of a sec, that should do it.

Pictures are blurry; quality of photos seem compromised

As simple as this may sound, have you cleaned the lens lately? A lot of image quality deterioration comes from a finger print or other smudge on the lens. Digital cameras are succeptable to even the smallest gunk on the lens. Because the lens element is very tiny, use a cotton swab with a drop of lens cleaner (or isopropyl alcohol) to thouroughly clean and dry the lens. If it isn't a dirty lens, check your file-size and flash settings.

Everytime I take a picture it turns out blurry

Inside the lens their is a focus motor that has to be perfectly set if it get out of ajustment this will cause a blurry image it you try to zoom some times you may get a lens error this is because the lens has been obstructed from the inside by the focus lens. the lens eather needs to be replaced or rebuilt.you may find a broke one off ebay with a good lens pretty cheap if you are going to try and repair it your self.

You probably got some condensation on the lens from going in and outside. You should be able to go to a Wolf Camera or similar store and have it cleaned.
