This is not possible on this model, as the error is a direct result of a sensor bar in the cartridge reporting an unacceptable level of voltage due to low toner in the cartridge. You must replace the cartridge.
First just verify it is not the scanner optics by laying a document on the glass and making a copy. If the line is still there then you have a defective new toner cartridge. You can verify this by putting the old toner back in even if it does not make a great copy. You should be able to tell if the black line is gone. If it is gone then just get the new toner replaced under warranty.
The Canon MF6000 series devices have a bad problem of the scanner shutter not opening. It will cause blank copies. Replace or remove shutter. Usually done by technician. Call Canon, you may get it fixed for free.
The error you are describing is usually cause by a bad cartridge but if you have tried a new Canon cartridge because refills will cause this a lot then we would need to look internally. If you look inside the unit (cartridge removed) on the right hand side towards the bottom you will see 3 flat metal plates. These are called spring plates when you push on them they should move in and out check and make sure they are not bent or depressed in you can try and use your fingers to fix them if they are. If not this unit would still be under the 3 year manufacture warranty call Canon they should give you service options. 800-828-4040
If the paper feeds through but nothing is on it, it indicates that the toner is not being properly fed. Go to this link, type "printout is blank" in the Search window and click the search button. Next, click on the "Printout is blank" line, and review the document. Especially check that you have removed the seals from the toner cartridge (see steps 7 and 9 on the second part).
