Question about HP ScanJet 5100C Flatbed Scanner
My new PC does not have parallel port and I can't get my Scanjet 5100c working through one of the USB ports. Is there a solution to my problem... other than scrapping the scanner.

I think the next one down, for parallel only, is the one you are probably trying to install. You have to uninstall that one first, before installing the new one.
Do it from the Control Panel, System, Device Manager. Uninstall the Driver, then 'Install Driver' and choose the 'Browse my computer for driver' type option, navigate to the folder you unzipped the new one to and select and install it. Then reboot.
It should work now.
