Question about Philips CCX192AT 19 in. TV/VCR Combo
Do not have original remote. With cable hooked to t.v., auto-programming is unsucessful. all channels have a rolling snowy picture. volume is nothing but static. do i need the original remote to fix this problem. How can I tune in the channels.
You won't need the remote to fix what you've described - I'm certain it has nothing to do with the remote. It's probably tuner related and the tuner will have to be removed from the main board and tested. Anyway that's where I'd start first... Next trace test the voltages to the tuner and make sure you don't have an open diode or something keeping the tuner down. Next check the voltages at the jungle IC and ESR all the caps in that circuit. If any of this sounds too complicated I'd strongly recommend a reliable shop. They should be able to isolate the problem in an hour or two. Bill
