Re: error display no disc
The problem is with your dvd players optical pic up .remoove the cover and clean the optical eye cairfully with cotton bud.(remember this is eye treet it very smoothly).then try again or use head cleaning cd.after that it will work .otherwise you have to change the optical lense to check wether it is problem with circuit or lence.

First, make sure you're not trying to play a bad disc by testing with another factory-burned DVD. And ... please do not be insulted here ... be sure the labeled side is facing upward. If still the same, the laser is mot likely defective and you will not be able to repair that yourself.
if there's no flashing red light on lens?.. the ribbon connector of lens is not properly connect, or change it if you notice that it has lines cracked. the bad performance of the disk spinning motor is also causing why was your unit displaying "no disc" error.
Hello, unfortunately Philips DVD players are more precious/ selective on DVDs than the other brands..it is true especially with "Copied DVD"..normally an original DVD should not cause such problem..however if your DVD disc itself is not clean ( i.e.finger prints ) the reading LASER sometimes has problem to read it.. I recommend to buy a "wet DVD laser cleaner system" and clean your laser on DVD and your DVD discs as well..it is available any HI-FI store..

Please follow the instructions below for unlocking your Philips HTS 3371 Please note: Unlocking a DVD player may invalidate the warranty. Unlock sequences may not work with some firmware updates and some DVD players have been damaged through failed attempts to unlock them. Unlocking your DVD player is done at your own risk.
1. Switch the DVD player ON 2. OPEN the disc tray 3. Key 9 9 9 9 0 using the Philips remote control supplied with the player 4. Press PLAY. The disc tray will close. 5. Switch the player OFF then switch ON again. 6. To test, play a disc from a region which was previously locked.
If it does not work the first time, switch the player off and back on, then try again.
This is a verified unlock method, but I was unable to confirm whether it works for players sold locked to Region 1 (North America). If you have a Region 1 player and the method above does not work, you will not be able to unlock your player.
Technically, yes but not so it would yield BD-quality audio or video. You need a control receiver that accepts either HDMI/DVI INPUT for 720I and above video. The digital audio in will probably suffice.
TThe player does not play this type of dvd disk! only pre-recorded movies and CDs Try hooking Up a player that plays DVD+ and DVD- disks!Hope I was of help!

hi angedembe, guess your dvd lens is dirty or worn out.try using a dvd lens cleaning disk this might solve your problem n if it still of no use then u have to change your dvd lens.hope the 1st method solve your problem.have a nice time.. raj..
If you are playing STANDARD CD or regular DVD that you have purchase and you are having this problem, your dvd player is malfunction;however,if you are playing DVD burner disc or a different dvd region disc(we are region 1 in U.S.) that is no going to work.Same thing for your CD burner disc,it might not work. If you are using a rental dvd disc, check and see if there is scratches? If so,try to get one without that many scratches! Joe
