ASUS KBN-E MOTHER BOARD 754 processor 512mb ram

Not sure if you can help. My second computer does although receiving power does not power up floppy drive, hard drive or cd r/w from mother board. All component work when not connected to mother board, all fans work and system lights. Can you let me know if the board has most likely died or can I try something else. Thank you for any help. Colin

Try plugging the drives into another computer to see if they actually work, ie read discs etc if they do then try swapping the power supply out of your computer.. if this doesn't work then I would say your motherboard is dead. Good luck

My computer it when I do the Ctrl+Alt+Del all it keeps doing is popping back up on the screen I can you help

The hard drive is not loading the operating system. If you have a floppy drive connected and there is a floppy disk in the drive, it won't boot. Remove the disk and try again. If you have no floppy drive connected, then your hard drive is no communicating with the mother board. This could be due to a disconnected power or data cable on the hard drive or the mother board end of the cable. If all the cables check out OK then your hard drive has gone bad.

My computer cannot turn on the power, and i found a red led always on at the center near the rear portion of the mother board. is that something wrong with the mother board or just the supple power is...

Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect/ boot up a computer hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your "((MOTHERBOARD TO YOUR HARD DRIVE))" make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error even something as small as a faulty electrical extension or fan lead can cause this problem
follow the troubleshooting procedure a computer needs all of the data and electrical current to travel through every device and to have an end to be able work properly

a motherboard and a hard drive any leads between them will fail before your motherboard or your hard drive if its a flat ribbon 40 pin type IDE replace it this will be the first to fail check all electrical extensions make sure they are securely seated even the cd/dvd floppy drives need to have current go through make sure these drives are working hope this helps also it could be a dirty computer clean all of the dust from your computer you could use a vacuum cleaner but whatever you use make absolutely sure there is no moisture gets to anything in your computer

also check the Cmos battery and computer ram make sure they are securely seated

hope this helps

My XPS 420 mysteriously quit working (odds are on the 18 month old pushing the power button on and off and on and off and... you get the picture) So the power button light was blinking amber. I replaced...

So. you replaced the power supply, was the computer working properly before you replaced the power supply? I am thinking that your motherboard is the issue. Usually when you get a blip of power and the fans only work for a second, it is usually a burned out motherboard. One can never be certain without looking at the unit first hand, but that is an educated guess.

You can try re-connecting the power supply leads to the motherboard and disconnecting all other hardware except for the hard drive. See if you have a hardware problem with you CD or your Floppy drive (if you have a floppy). If your secure in the fact that you have a good power supply now, this is an option.

Let me know what experience you have if you go ahead and try this procedure.

clean your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor specifically around your central processing unit making VERY sure there is no MOISTURE in the air line

Pc died

Hello, I have had similar problems with that same motherboard in the past and have found that resetting the cmos (see users manual) or just taking the battery of the motherboard for a few minutes can solve this. CAUTION please remove the power lead on your tower before touching any components inside, and earth yourself first by touching metal.. as static discharge kills pc components..
Hope this helps.....
