Dyson dc17 animal stopped sucking. brush still

Make sure the flexible hose that connects the beater brush housing up to the connection up by the dust bin is still connected. It could also have a hole in it so check for that as well.

Loss of suction with hoss & wand with my Dyson Animal bagless - will only work as an upright.

It sounds like you have a clog through the hose. Take the entire hose off of the unit and stick a broomstick through, if it comes out the other end without anything coming with it. The clog is in the sweep below the unit. If your mechanically inclined you should not have any issues, if you do have a problem, take it to your local vacuum shop

Dyson Animal, lost suction and bypass valve seems to be loose

Dear terrygivens, 2-17-2009 4:12am EST (USA)

Most suction problems are caused by a clog from picking up something you probably didn't see or if you have pets an accumulation of pet hairs!

To clear it out take a metal coat hanger and unbend it til it's straight, then bend the end and tape it so when you push it through to unclog your vac it doesn't rip the hose.

Push the coat hanger in from the bottom brush area through the opening where the suction is. Also push it in and out anywhere else you can......You'll probably find something clogged....keep working it til it loosens and intermittently turn on the suction.

If you have a second vac with a hose, use that hose for suction on the clogged vac!

This should do it!

Does not have the same suction as when we first purchase the vaccuum. it is only 2 years old. We cleand the round filter at the bottom of canister. Any suggestions?

Sounds like you have a clog in the hose or from brush to the hose. To clrar turn vacume over and remove bottom cover to unclog where it meats the hose. I would use a coat hanger to unclog the hose.

Dyson Animal hose collapses when using attachment hose

You have a clog in either your hose or your wand. You need to take off the wand and hose and inspect them.

Dyson DC17 Animal Vacuum

you just need to blow those holes out with a air compressor or similiar device and the filter can be washed in water and dried for 24 hours every once in a while, this is just how the vacuum works, nothing is perfect

Dyson noise.

Check all ports for a clog, there are removable covers you can take off, also check the hose for a clog. Make sure all filters are clean. Worse case is a problem with the motor.
