Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I reformatted my Dell Inspiron 1100 notebook, now the screen resolution is so small. It takes up only a small area of the screen. It is also telling me that Video Controller (VGA compatible), PCI Modem,...

Put your drivers disk back in and rather than use a search programme, drill down through all the folders until you see the drivers you need.

Each will have a .exe file, double click on that and installation should start.

You should then be able to reset your screen resolution.

Dell Inspiron 710m PC Notebook Problem

Go to "Device Manager" and look if any yellow or red alerts are being displayed next to any devices. To access the "Device Manager" go to the 'Control Panel", "Administrative Tools", "Computer Management" and select "Device Manager" located in the left side column.
If there is an alert, double click on that device to determine the problem, i.e.… device not configured, cannot start this device, etc…
It sounds like all your software drivers got blown away or can’t load. If that’s the case, try running diagnostics. Press and hold the <Fn> key while powering the system on. This will initiate a diagnostic routine to check your hardware.

Display

the moment you power on your system strat tapping F2 key
you will get a system setup screen if you dont get it as suggested before connect an extrnel monitor then press and hold Fn key and while holding it down press F8 it will toggle the display
if you get a video on external monitor LCD needs to be replaced
if you don't then its either systemboard(if video card is integrated)
or the video card
provide me your system's service tag located at the bottom pannel of your system, turn it upside down you will find a bar coded sticker which has a 7 digit alphanumeric number
i will be able to provide the best resolution
