Question about Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

I have a tear in the driver side rear door speaker in my Acura MDX. 2001 Acura MDX, Bose System. Is there a repair shop in Phoenix that can change out the front paper piece, or do I have to bite the bullet and buy the dealer replacement part? John

Hi, i am in the uk so can't say if it is different localy to yourself, but you may save cash if you look to source "Legacy" (U.S.A. brand) replacement speakers . They have quite a low cost start point and sound really good if system matched with a amplifier from the same brand. You may even be able to source some adapters that will allow you to install bigger sizes - bigger IS better. Most only use a few wires so fitting is easy to do at home.

My remote will no longer open or lock my doors I have a 2002 Acura mdx I changed the batteries thinking that was probably the issue but still nothing.

The remote may have to be "re-trained" to your vehicle. The owner's manual should have the process listed. Probably having to sit in the driver's seat with the untrained remote while working the lock controls on the driver's side door.

Need to replace a front heat blower resistor on 2002 mdx, where is located???

moz-screenshot.pngHere's an excerpt from the 2002 Acura MDX 4WD 6cyl Repair guide for replacing what the reference manual calls the "control assembly" - its located under the console rear trim and may (or may not)
contain the blower resistor - my manual doesn't say - but this is the closest thing I could find for you. Every other blower resistor I've had to find was located close to the heater controls - and this
car seems to be no exception -- its heater controls are located in the console between the seats, rather than in the dash (as in Acura 2003-06 MDX models).

You may want to call your friendly Acura dealership ad speak to the parts department, to make sure where the blower resistor is located - or a visit to a dealership parts counter often (or
Advance Auto Parts is helpful too) ofen clarifies questions I have from Haynes manuals (the cheapest car repair guides).

All this assumes that you've correctly diagnosed your blower control problem -- as in "replace the blower resistor when the blower works only on the MAX/Highest setting."

Control Assembly Removal & Installation

2001-02 Models
  1. Remove the console rear trim. Refer to the accompanying illustration.

  2. Remove the self-tapping screws and the rear heater-A/C control unit (A) from the console rear trim (B).

To install:
  1. Install the control unit in the reverse order of removal. After installation, operate the control unit controls to see whether it works properly.
  2. Run the self-diagnosis function to confirm that there are no problems in the system.

My 2001 acura mdx driver side door won't close

THE DOOR CATCH HAS A DOUBLE "C" THAT HOLDS THE DOOR CLOSED. FIRST TAKE A SCREWDRIVER INSIDE THE "C". USING THE HANDLE ON THE INSIDE, PULL THE HANDLE AS IF YOU WERE OPENING THE DOOR AND AT THE SAME TIME, OPEN THE DOUBLE "C" WITH THE SCREWDRIVER. I HOPE THIS HELPS. THANKS FOR USING FIX-YA. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO KEEP ME POSTED. GOOD LUCK
