Try running a good sized thickness paper thru it to clear out the cutters. Sometimes when they jam some residual paper is left in the space between the cutter wheels and causes the paper to feed askew... I use the cover from old phone books.
This problem is usually caused by the CR Scale forced out of it's **** by a paper jam. The CR scale is a 1/4" wide strip of grey plastic band that is visible when you open the printer. It is right above the serial number. Slide the head carrier to the left and look behind the head carrier. You will see a small U-shaped plastic piece. Make sure the CR scale is within the **** or u shape. Be very careful not to damage the CR scale as you slip it back it. When this scale is flipped out of the ****, the printer head slams into the right side of the printer on start up (twice) and produces the fatal error message, with the paper jam note.
Sound like you have something stuck in the paper feed path, check for a paperclip or similar, it may be that you have had a jam and torn off a piece of paper inside the printer which is now stuck, when removing jams from any nmachine allways pull paper in direction of feed never back on itself as it can cause this very problem
It is the problem paper end sensor is open or fedd sensor is open.
power on then paper jum it is the same problem. or power on printer is ready after print command then paper jum it problem your cartridge chip is diable or feed claught is not active
Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
Also open the back cover of the printer if this model has one.
Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it away from light/ sun light to avoid damaging it.
If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by
holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the
paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling
out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper. Don't force anything, though. Do
this step especially if the jam message comes up repeatedly without any
obvious paper jam, there may be a small tear of paper inside.
Ones the printer is free of paper Replace the toner or
ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the
printer back on.
If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
see alternative if the problem is still not solved.
a piece of thick paper, for example photo paper and press the resume
button (may be diffrent button on diffrent models) a few times to the
printer picks up the paper and puts it through the machine.
You need to reintialise the printer again from the scratch. turn off your printer and disconnect from the computer. Uninstall all the drivers and application of the printer. reinstall the driver by following the instaruction. Connect the printer cabel to the computer when it prompts you to do that and then align the printer cartridge. The paper fedd will work fine
The paper used for printing should not be wet, torn or folded from any side as this can cause paper jam, hence resulting in carriage jam. Also, use only one type of paper at a time while printing. The paper should be added to the In-tray only when the printer is not in use. Make sure not to overfill the In-tray.get more information http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Other-printing-questions/Printer-Paper-Jam/m-p/126558
