Question about Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 1: Windows

Windows Live Mail

Nothing works. I can't open lnks in emails. I can't use the help facility. I can't change my profile details. the whole think appears to be seriously faulty. I'm not confident about uninstalling it and need to know that uninstalling it and installing it again 1) is easy 2) is likely to solve the problems Im having and 3) if I install it again will all my and other hotmail accounts on this laptop remain intact?

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

When live mail opens there is a box which says sorry, something unexpected happened and windows live mail must close. Your recent changes may be lost. emails will not load. how can i fix this?

If you are using windows 10, live mail wont work, go to the play store and get mail. If you are mistaken and have mail and not live mail, the process to remove and reinstall is very involved. Let me know

Hotmail not receiving. Enable IMAP How?

Windows Live Mail is the desktop email application of Office Live, introduced with Windows 7. Windows Live Mail replaces Outlook Express in Windows XP and Windows Mail in Windows Vista. You can use Windows Live Mail to access most free email accounts, such as Gmail, Hotmail and Yahoo Mail, as well as those offered by Internet service providers. You can also set up your IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) account to use Windows Live Mail.

Open the Office Live email application. Click "Start," select "Programs" or "All Programs" and select "Windows Live Mail" from the "Windows Live Folder." Go to the "Tools" menu and select "Accounts" to open the "Accounts" dialog box. If you do not see thetoolbar, press the "Alt" key to display it. Click the "Add" button, select "Email Account" and click "Next." Type in the complete IMAP email address, such as "name@emailprovider.com" into the "Email Address." Enter the password for that account in the "Password" box. Enter the name you want displayed to email recipients in the "Display Name" box. Select the "Manually Configure Server Settings for Email" check box and click "Next." Select "IMAP" in the "My Incoming Mail Server Is" list. Enter "imap.ispname.com" into the "Incoming Server" box, replacing "ispname" with the name of your email provider. Type "smtp.ispname.com" into the "Outgoing Server" box, replacing "ispname" with the name of your email provider. Click "Next" and then click "Finish." Hope this helps.

This is nothing to do with the Pictures, this is to do with your outbound SMTP server settings, you will need to double check all details including server name, username, password and ports

What email program are you using to read and send emails? Are you using online webmail or a desktop email program such as Outlook Express, Windows Mail, Windows Live Mail, Thunderbird, etc?

I can't receive e-mail. A log in message keeps popping up each time I open my e-mail. My user name and password is there and I have to cancel the box to get to my messages. This time I got a message:...

What is your email provider (like hotmail, yahoo, etc), and what program are you using to get mail? (windows live, outlook, outlook express?)
Have you tried accessing your mailbox directly from a browser window and logging into the provider website? You'll be able to check your password access that way...
Give us some more details and we might be able to answer better...
If you're using outlook, I think I fixed that issue once but it took some searching, and reappeared after awhile...you may have a corrupt user profile or mail profile and need to make a new one...
Let us know....

HP 4670 Scan to email: how to open Windows Live mail, not OE

Click the Show Menu button, and choose Options; if you see the traditional menus, go to Tools > Options. Both open the Options dialog: under the General tab, which should be selected by default, locate the bottom section, labeled "Default Messaging Program":

img1a2.jpgIf Windows Live Mail is not currently the default email program on Windows, the text next to the first button will read "This application is NOT the default Mail handler". Click the Make Default button, and it will be disabled (grayed out).

img1d.gif Confirming your change of default email clientThe text has now changed to "This application is the default Mail handler".This is a bit misleading, because Windows Live Mail will not becomeyour default email application until you actually have clicked the Ok or Apply button to confirm the change in configuration.
img36wlm.jpgSoclick Ok (no need to Apply first), and Windows Live Mail's optiondialog will close, integrating your new option choices. It is that easyto make Windows Live Mail your default email program. (If Windows LiveMail was already your default email client, nothing will happen.)
