I have a torn boot and have purchased the replacement part, but now need to know how to replace it.

What a coincidence - we started a load today and found a piece of the gasket had broken off ours as well. How involved of a repair is this? I'm somewhat handy - I've had to fix our other KitchenAid an Whirlpool products - but would hate to get into something over my head or patience.

Bill, I got the boot off but now I'm trying to get the new one on. Is there a trick to doing this? I can't seem to get it lined up with the metal and then get the first wire on.

Moldy smell in clothes, especially towels

need to clean the bellow ( rubber around door). theres a tablet you can buy called "Affresh". It will help to remove the moldy smell. just throw it in washer and run through a regular wash cycle. no clothes, just the tablet. If there is a clean cycle on the machine then use that cycle. Whenever you're finished washing, you should leave the door open for about 20-30 minutes so unit can air out. Also you should wipe around the glass and bellow after each use.

Washer not washing leaving stains on clothing

It sounds like the silicone apron between your washer drum and the door has deteriorated. If that is the case, no cleaner will help you.
Best solution is to order a new one.

I have always had a smell coming from my duet washer. I put bleach in and run it through a rinse cycle, but it always comes back

there may be some dirt or other things collecting in the drain boot attatch to the drain pump there is usually a plastic coin trap located inside the rubber boot his will cause a musty smell in the washer.as well as a moldy door boot seal.if the door boot is moldy it needs to be replaced.

Whirlpool Front Loading Door leaking water

The most common cause for a front loading washer to leak from the front door is a torn or detached gasket where that gasket attached to the machine.
Open the door and begin to pull the gasket away from the opening. Look for any problems. If you find a place where the gasket is not firmly secured to the opening, you can list that area up and glue (even with super glue) the gasket back down to the metal opening.
If you find gasket damage, it will need to be replaced.
